Tom Hardy’s New Movie Teeters on BRINK of Disaster with Critics

Tom Hardy’s latest film, titled “Release Date”, is set to premiere on April 25th. Before its debut on the streaming service, it has garnered positive early feedback, as indicated by its recently updated rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Presently, the movie “Havoc” is rated at 61% on Rotten Tomatoes, which places it at the edge of the “Fresh” category on their scale. If the rating dips below 60%, the film will be classified as “Rotten.” However, with additional reviews still pending, there’s a possibility that the score could decrease further and potentially lose its “Fresh” status. At this moment, the audience’s score on Rotten Tomatoes has not been determined since the movie hasn’t had a wide release yet.

In one of its most enthusiastic reviews, Ian Sandwell commented: “May any other action movie released this year surpass what Havoc has already achieved with its outstanding action scenes; it’s quite likely that we’ve already witnessed the best action sequences of 2025 in this film.

Jim Vorel’s review describes “Havoc” as a platform for director Gareth Evans to splatter with bullet holes and gore, providing a constant barrage of excessively outrageous violence, particularly in its second half. It could very well be the bloodiest movie ever produced by Netflix.

Other Critics Are Not So Kind on Havoc

In contrast, Tania Hussain noted that while the Netflix movie boasted an excellent cast and pulse-pounding action to hold your interest, it was undermined by a disorganized plot and poor handling.

Critic Alistair Ryder stated: “The movie truly embodies its title, but it’s disheartening as it appears the director is lagging behind in the genre, seeming to follow the trend of action films that emerged after his two ‘Raid’ productions.

Under the guidance of director Gareth Evans, who penned the script, the movie titled Havoc boasts a stellar cast alongside Tom Hardy, including Forest Whitaker, Jessie Mei Li, among others. In this movie, Tom Hardy portrays a detective immersing himself in the criminal underworld to save a politician’s son. The Venom star excelled in this role, as he brought his A-game to the action-packed scenes that Havoc promises.

Tom arrived in top form, reminiscent of a fierce beast,” Evans stated emphatically, highlighting Hardy’s suitability for the role. “I touched his shoulder, and it felt like touching granite. He was completely physically ready. Walker isn’t smooth and refined. He’ll create as much chaos and destruction as he can. He won’t gently guide you into an arm lock. Instead, he’ll grab you by the back of the neck and force your face into the closest solid object.

Havoc will be released on Netflix on April 25, 2025.
