Next month, The Hellraiser Chapter will depart from DBD, making room for a fresh addition: Ken Kaneki, the first character based on an anime, who is set to join the game. A sneak peek at him can already be found on test servers, so keep your eyes open!
Tokyo Ghoul is coming to DBD. Ken Kaneki is the ne killer
If you’re familiar with the story of Tokyo Ghoul, you’d know that Ken Kaneki isn’t portrayed as an antagonist. But, here’s the twist: In the lore of Dead by Daylight (DBD), his fate took a drastic turn. After being brutally tortured by Jason, he was abducted instead of receiving help. With his mental state precarious, he fell into the hands of the Fog and was transformed into a ruthless killer.
Initially, the Ghoul seems like a highly capable assassin with great promise, but one that needs careful examination to fully utilize its potential. In its basic form, it can unleash two Kagune tentacles. These tentacles enable you to adhere to surfaces or individuals, enabling movement across the map. However, be aware that if you fall from a significant height, your ability will go on cooldown.
Besides that, striking a robust target with your second attack (tendril) will cause harm, instigate Deep Wounds, and brand them with a Kagune Scar. This action will also activate the Enraged State, which persists until all marked survivors are completely healed or incapacitated.
In Angry Mode, you gain an extra attack. Additionally, when you latch onto a survivor, you jump faster. Yet, you won’t be able to inflict damage on someone who is marked with the Ghost’s special skill.
Indeed, Kaneki Ken does offer three distinct advantages, but it’s worth noting that these perks might not leave a lasting impression on most players due to their limited usefulness.

| Hex: Nothing But Misery | After hitting Survivors 8 times with basic attacks, a dull totem becomes a hex totem. After that, damaging a Survivor with a basic attack makes them 5% Hindered for 10/12.5/15 seconds. |
| Forever Entwined | You gain 1 token (up to 6/7/8) when a Survivor takes damage. Each of them increases your speed by 4% for picking up, dropping, and hooking Survivors. |
| None Are Free | You gain 1 token (up to 4) each time you hook a Survivor for the first time. When all generators are completed, windows and standing pallets are blocked for everyone for 12/14/16 seconds per token. |
Ken Kaneki can be accessed at the moment solely on the Public Test Servers through Steam. To get to him, simply right-click the game Dead by Daylight in your Steam Library, select Properties, then click the “Betas” tab, and opt for “public-test”.
