Get ready for another live-action Disney remake! This time, it’s Tinker Bell from Peter Pan who’s getting a new adaptation. Originally planned as a movie starring Reese Witherspoon, the project is now being developed as a series for Disney+. The creative team behind Friday Night Lights, Liz Heldens and Bridget Carpenter, will be writing and producing this new take on the beloved fairy’s adventures.
Tinker Bell started as a fun, feisty companion to Peter Pan, but she’s become a star in her own right over the years—especially since her first appearance in the 1953 animated film. Now, Disney is finally giving her the leading role she deserves with a new live-action series called Tink. According to Deadline, the studio has been planning this project for a while, and it’s now become a major focus.
