Timothée Chalamet’s ‘Marty Supreme’ Casts Odessa A’zion, Penn Jillette, Kevin O’Leary and Abel Ferrara

As a seasoned film enthusiast with a penchant for unraveling the intricacies of cinema, I find myself utterly captivated by the latest developments in Timothée Chalamet’s ping pong movie, “Marty Supreme.” The addition of Odessa A’zion, Penn Jillette, Kevin O’Leary, Abel Ferrara, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Tyler, the Creator to this motley crew is a veritable feast for cinephiles like myself.

Timothée Chalamet’s ping pong movie is adding a few more players.

Actress Odessa A’zion, known for her roles in “Fresh Kills” and “Hellraiser,” has signed on to star in the upcoming project “Marty Supreme.” The ensemble cast also includes magician Penn Jillette, popular businessman Kevin O’Leary (also known as Mr. Wonderful) from “Shark Tank,” and renowned filmmaker Abel Ferrara, best known for “Bad Lieutenant.

Details about their characters are being kept secret, however this diverse group will be working alongside previously announced actors Gwyneth Paltrow and Tyler, the Creator in an upcoming film. The movie is rumored to revolve around a professional table tennis player, but specifics about the plot remain undisclosed. A24 recently shared an image of a ping pong ball with the words “coming soon” following EbMaster’s announcement of the project back in July.

Safdie and Ronald Bronstein are the original writers of “Marty Ultimate” and will also produce along with Eli Bush, Anthony Katagas, Timothée Chalamet, and A24. The filming is set to start in the autumn.

A’zion has worked on shows such as “Sitting in Bars With Cake” from Amazon Studios, “Grand Army” and “Ghosts” for television. Upcoming projects include the video game adaptation “Until Dawn,” “She Rides Shotgun,” “Nickels,” and an untitled HBO comedy series starring Rachel Sennott.

Since 2001, Penn Jillette, accompanied by his mute magic partner Teller, has been the headliner at the Rio in Las Vegas. They have featured in TV series such as “Penn & Teller: Trick Me” and “Penn & Teller: Unveiled,” and Penn’s acting portfolio also encompasses films like “Hackers” and “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.” He has made guest appearances on popular shows like “Friends,” “Modern Family,” and “The Celebrity Apprentice.

In his debut film appearance, O’Leary stars in “Marty Supreme.” Recognized as ‘Mr. Wonderful’, O’Leary is a Canadian entrepreneur famed for his stern investor role on ABC’s “Shark Tank.” He has also made appearances as himself on various shows such as “The Neighbors,” “Dr. Ken,” and “Grace and Frankie.

As a passionate cinephile, I’m famously recognized for my work as the director of raw, edge-of-your-seat crime thrillers like “The Driller Killer,” “Ms .45,” “King of New York” and “The Funeral.” I also had the privilege to step in front of the camera for Josh and Benny Safdie’s 2009 film, “Daddy Longlegs,” and a few of my own productions.

Following his successful collaboration with his brother Benny on “Uncut Gems” and “Good Time,” Safdie embarks on his first solo directorial venture since 2008 with the film “Marty Supreme.” Recently, he directed Adam Sandler’s latest comedy special for Netflix, titled “Love You,” and is currently teaming up with Sandler again for a movie that takes place in the realm of sports memorabilia and baseball.
