Timothée Chalamet Kicks Off ‘Marty Supreme’ Filming in First Set Photos From A24 Ping Pong Movie

As a cinephile and admirer of the artistry that unfolds on the silver screen, I am truly enthralled by the latest developments in Timothée Chalamet’s career. The young prodigy has once again proven his versatility by taking on the challenging role of a professional table tennis player in “Marty Supreme.

Timothée Chalamet has been seen in Manhattan, wearing costumes, as filming begins for “Marty Supreme,” the forthcoming A24 film that focuses on a skilled table tennis athlete.

In the photographs, Chalamet adopts a ’50s hairdo, sports circular wire-rimmed spectacles, and layers a large white shirt under a blue sweater vest.

Josh Safdie takes charge of “Marty Supreme,” his first standalone directorial project since 2008. Timmy Chalamet, along with Gwyneth Paltrow who has appeared in a movie since 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame”, and Tyler, the Creator making his film debut, are part of the cast. Odessa A’zion, magician Penn Jillette (from Penn & Teller), investor Kevin O’Leary (also known as Mr. Wonderful from “Shark Tank”), and “Bad Lieutenant” director Abel Ferrara are also included in the star-studded lineup. Although specifics about the plot remain undisclosed, A24 released a picture of a ping pong ball with the words “coming soon” following the announcement by EbMaster in July.

Safdie and Ronald Bronstein are the original writers of “Marty Supreme”, and they co-produce this movie together with Eli Bush, Anthony Katagas, Timothée Chalamet, and A24.

Timothée Chalamet, currently riding a wave of success with the musical prequel “Wonka” and the upcoming sci-fi sequel “Dune: Part Two,” has just completed work on James Mangold’s “A Complete Unknown.” In this film, he portrays a young Bob Dylan during the early 1960s. The movie, set for release on December 25, follows the early stages of the folk music icon’s career in Greenwich Village, leading up to his groundbreaking decision to play an electric guitar at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, a move that forever altered the genre. Pictures from this shoot have also been leaked online and gained widespread attention.

Josh Safdie is primarily recognized for co-directing “Uncut Gems” and “Good Time,” alongside his brother Benny Safdie. After their creative partnership ended, Josh Safdie took charge as director for Adam Sandler’s recent comedy special on Netflix titled “Love You,” and he’s also collaborating with Sandler on a different film that takes place in the realm of sports memorabilia and baseball.
