Timothée Chalamet Crashes Timothée Chalamet Lookalike Contest as NYPD Puts One Doppelganger in Cuffs

As a devoted admirer of Timothée Chalamet and a witness to the unexpected spectacle at Washington Square Park, I must say it was an unforgettable experience that encapsulated the essence of fandom and surreal encounters. The anticipation leading up to the lookalike contest was palpable, with the city buzzing with excitement and curiosity.

A crowd of about twenty young men, sporting various combinations of strong jawlines, hazel eyes, and curly locks, gathered at Washington Square Park in New York City on a Sunday afternoon for a Timothée Chalamet look-alike competition. However, an unexpected turn of events occurred approximately thirty minutes into the event when the actual Timothée Chalamet suddenly appeared among the spectators.

Timothée Chalamet made his way stealthily through the bustling crowd, concealing himself behind a black mask and a baseball cap, until he found himself close to two look-alikes who were taking pictures. As soon as he reached the center, he removed his mask for the grand unveiling, promptly causing screams to echo throughout the park.

Prior to Chalamet’s arrival, the NYPD stepped in to manage the swelling crowd under the famous arch of the park. Shortly after the competition started at 1 p.m., the police moved the crowd to the northern part of the park, and for reasons unclear, they even arrested one look-alike and handcuffed him.

For the past few weeks, announcements for the doppelganger competition have been made all over town through flyers and also on Partiful with an offer of a $50 cash prize for the victor. By Sunday morning, there were over 2,500 people planning to attend this event.

Timothée Chalamet parked his vehicle near Spencer DeLorienzo, a well-known doppelganger who had been busy taking pictures all afternoon. At one instance, he was lifted onto a chair while spectators roared their approval.

Since his breakout role in “Call Me By Your Name” in 2017, DeLorienzo claims people have been telling him he resembles Timothée Chalamet.

He admits it became repetitive eventually, but he’s still up for it. What excites him most is the chance to connect with new individuals, and the $50 prize isn’t as significant for him at this moment. However, he’s fully engaged with the humor of the situation.

18-year-old TikToker Cramer Ekholm was actually sent from Wisconsin by beauty brand MCo Beauty to join a competition. On TikTok, Ekholm is particularly recognized due to his similarity with Chalamet. He currently has over 253,000 followers on the platform.

He remarks, ‘This is the most frequent response I receive on social media.’ Initially, I wasn’t fond of it as I value my individuality, but now I’ve come to accept and appreciate it.

In the distance, Timothée Chalamet portrays Bob Dylan in James Mangold’s movie titled “A Complete Unknown.” This film delves into the early life and era of the iconic musician, with a release date set for December 25th. Set against the backdrop of New York in the early 1960s, this biographical drama finds its start when a 19-year-old Dylan from Minnesota moves to Greenwich Village, causing a stir in the folk community by electrifying his guitar in 1965.
