TikTok sensation Kelsey Kotzur was left puzzled when she found out that an online store was marketing cardboard cutouts resembling her image, which were available for purchase on well-known platforms such as Etsy and Walmart.
On the popular social media platform TikTok, Kotzur is a rising influencer with more than 208,000 followers captivated by her fashion-centric videos and glimpses into her daily life residing in Brooklyn.
Though she’s open about her online presence, this TikTok user was taken aback when she discovered an unauthorized sale of merchandise featuring her image on a website, primarily oversized cardboard standups.
On March 12, 2025, Kotzur shared a worrying tale through a TikTok video, revealing that she had stumbled upon the cutouts at some point in 2024.

TikToker’s likeness sold in cardboard cutout without her knowledge
As reported by the TikToker, this particular website offered its merchandise for sale on the online marketplaces of significant retailers, such as Etsy, Amazon, and Walmart’s virtual storefronts.
Fortunately, she managed to handle the sudden (and admittedly unsettling) news with grace, sharing that her aunt and uncle had bought it merely as a joke to tease her.
She confessed that when she began creating online videos, it never crossed her mind that things would turn out like this.
Kotzur’s surprising tale underscores the fact that what you post online is hardly ever personal — an idea reinforced by commenters below.
“This is hilarious but also so weird and scary,” one wrote. “The duality of the internet.”
“Literally, I don’t know if I should be flattered or freaked t he f**k out,” Kotzur replied.
In a friendly manner, I’d like to ask, what makes you think others (not relatives) might be interested in purchasing this product?
“This is the absolutely correct take because IDK lmao,” the influencer agreed.
It’s not just Kotzur who has fallen prey to these types of schemes; in reality, Twitch star Amouranth revealed that she is pursuing legal action against a company peddling counterfeit merchandise bearing her likeness. Shockingly, this fake merchandise was even being sold at the well-known retailer Spencer’s.
