A social media user known as The Jungle Pups is currently trending, thanks to her humorous videos featuring what she calls “the world’s most expensive Labubu.
In 2015, Kasing Lung, an artist originally from Hong Kong, introduced Labubu, his collection of “monster” characters, in a series of picture books he authored. These whimsical creatures can be purchased via Pop Mart, but since they come in blind-box packaging, the surprise is in discovering which one you’ve bought once it’s opened.
It wasn’t until 2024 that they gained widespread recognition, but their popularity surged significantly following the appearance of both Blackpink’s Lisa and American singer Rihanna in a photo with them.
Currently, a TikTok user is trending with her humorous video series displaying her costly assortment of luxury Labubus items.
TikToker’s 24k gold Labubu goes viral
Starting from when her Labubu collection garnered attention on social platforms, she immediately began showing it off. However, it wasn’t until June 2025 that she successfully obtained the unique 24k gold version, which is considered the only one of its kind.
She declared, “I possess an authentic 24-karat gold figurine shaped like a Labubu.” She elaborated, “This is indeed 24-karat gold crafted meticulously into a Labubu. It weighs approximately 200 grams and the cost to create it was a substantial 20,000 pounds by melting down gold bars.
We chose to create a 24-karat gold version because its popularity online has been rapidly increasing. We believe his value is destined for a significant rise.”
“Since it’s become extremely popular online, we decided on a 24k gold design. We predict that its worth will only continue to soar.
After her initial video became extremely popular and people were doubtful if it depicted a genuine gold Labubu, she posted a follow-up video to confirm its authenticity. In this video, she demonstrated using a magnet to test the gold’s properties. Later on, she shared another video where she tested the object with a “gold tester.
On TikTok, people kept doubting if the toy was genuine, leading her to share additional videos aimed at proving her innocence.
On July 7th (Monday), The Jungle Pups disclosed that in addition to the one they already had, she also owned various scarcely found variations of the toy – emerald, diamond, and pink diamond editions.
On this occasion, she employed what seemed to be a “precious stone detector” – in reality, a meat thermometer – as a means to debunk her critics who claimed she was broke. In the footage, when she placed it near her toys, an audible tone similar to a ringtone could be heard.
“NOT THE RINGTONE TALKING AS ‘NOISE,’” one user commented.
Another replied: “I live how no one can tell she’s joking.”
“I’m crying is that a meat thermometer?” a third asked.
Due to the immense popularity of Labubu, it has become a globally sought-after toy. The high demand for this toy is so significant that its sales have made the owner of Pop Mart, China’s youngest billionaire.
