TikToker goes viral buying wedding dress while single & now her DMs are “wild”

A woman on TikTok gained popularity for purchasing a wedding dress even though she doesn’t have a partner, and now says her direct messages are flooded with responses from the millions who have watched her videos.

Most couples don’t rush into marriage – unlike those on reality TV shows or in Vegas weddings. Planning a wedding usually takes a significant amount of time, and booking a venue can sometimes take a year or more.

Shayla Quinn, a popular creator on TikTok and Instagram, recently bought a wedding dress even though she’s not currently in a relationship. The New York-based influencer shared the surprising purchase in February, explaining that the dress, originally priced at $4500, only cost her $100.

Quinn posted multiple videos about the dress, which she called the “dress saga,” and many viewers commented asking about her purchase.

The videos have gained nearly 5 million views and continue to attract new viewers daily.

Since sharing her story, Quinn says she’s been flooded with messages on social media, including many from men offering to marry her. “My inbox is crazy right now,” she told the New York Post. “I was worried people would think I was being unreasonable, but actually, I’ve received tons of messages from men.”

“So I’m kind of thinking maybe this dress is just the beginning of the story.”

Quinn originally intended to keep the dress to herself, but decided it was too amusing not to share. She worried people might think she was crazy for buying it while single, but she’s actually gotten a lot of positive reactions.

“I wasn’t looking for a dress. I feel like the dress found me,” she also told The Post.
