Thunderbolts Star Wyatt Russell Promises Critics Will “Eat Their Words” with Surprise Marvel Hit

Wyatt Russell, who plays a character in the latest Marvel film, offers a response to critics. He expresses hope that those who have been negative about the movie might reconsider and find themselves eating their earlier criticisms.

Thunderbolts is an intriguing concept for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, since most of the Avengers were initially presented through their individual films, whereas these anti-heroes have held relatively minor roles within the series so far.

In Captain America: The First Avenger, we were first introduced to Bucky. Meanwhile, Yelena, Taskmaster, and Red Guardian made their debuts in Black Widow. Ghost was initially shown in Ant-Man and the Wasp, while John Walker joined the scene in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on television.

Indeed, we’re stepping into an entirely fresh chapter for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Wyatt Russell, the actor portraying Walker/U.S. Agent, is determined to disprove any skepticism regarding his character.

Wyatt Russell has a message for anyone who thinks Thunderbolts will “blow”

When queried regarding the weightier topics that Thunderbolts addresses, particularly loneliness and depression, Wyatt Russell explained to The Hollywood Reporter that these themes are what will distinguish this film from past Marvel Cinematic Universe productions.

Russell expresses curiosity about transitioning from creating the type of Marvel films that have been popular for the last 15 years, considering their past performance, to exploring something entirely different from what Marvel is traditionally known for. This shift represents a departure and involves taking a risk, as it moves away from the familiar territory of Marvel productions.

This narrative style deviates from the typical superhero tropes. Instead, it revolves around an exceptional team battling a menacing adversary who poses an existential danger. The fate of the world hangs in the balance as either global destruction or mass disappearance looms. Their mission is to put an end to this threat.

As a gamer, I’ve found myself in situations where everyone seems to think they’re the main character. Yet, fate has us all banded together as one team. It’s a setting where unity is crucial, but individualism prevails, leading to some intriguing dynamics among the players.

Additionally, Russell points out that most of the actors had established their careers outside of Marvel projects. Consequently, when they joined Thunderbolts, they brought a unique perspective to the table.

We approached this project as a team with the mindset, “Let’s take ownership, let’s make it exceptional, and let’s leave those who doubt us speechless.” Given my athletic history, I was eager to prove myself by saying, “I’ll make you retract your words if you think this movie will fail or that you wouldn’t want to watch it.” However, once they view the trailer, their reaction is often, “This looks promising.” I appreciate that aspect of it.
