Thunderbolts Falls Below Initial Opening Weekend Box Office Projections, Becomes Marvel’s Lowest Summer Kickoff Ever

As a diehard fan, I’ve just learned that the actual weekend box office figures for “Thunderbolts” have been released, and it seems we’re in for a slightly disappointing start compared to initial expectations. The movie opened domestically with $74.3 million, falling short of the $76 million that was projected on Monday morning. Given its status as the opening salvo of the 2025 summer movie season and as part of the Marvel Universe, I’d hoped for a stronger showing. Regrettably, even by Marvel Studios’ post-Endgame standards, “Thunderbolts” is currently underperforming.
