Those Swinging Mormon TikTokers Are Getting a Docuseries

As a lifelong resident of Utah and a devout Mormon, I have always found our unique culture to be both fascinating and frustrating. The recent scandal involving the “Mormon MomTok” influencers has certainly caught my attention, and I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions as I watch this unfold on TikTok and now, with the upcoming Hulu docuseries titled “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.”

A scandal involving a number of Mormon mom influencers on TikTok, who became notorious last year for participating in a “soft swinging” group where infidelity was forbidden, is being turned into a Hulu docuseries titled “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” this fall. The series description reveals: “When these Mormon mom influencers are exposed for their involvement in an international swinging sex scandal, the bonds of their sisterhood are put to the test. Their faith, friendships, and reputations hang in the balance.” To provide some context, in 2022, Taylor Frankie Paul, a popular Mormon mom influencer on TikTok, announced her divorce from her husband. She claimed that the relationship ended due to a breach of trust within their “soft swinging” group, which was comprised of other Mormon TikTokers, where the rule is not to engage in extramarital affairs with one another’s spouses. However, the other members vehemently denied these allegations and their denials were met with skepticism from the public.

1. On September 6, all six episodes are set to debut on Hulu, perfectly timed for Christian Girl Fall. However, one might wonder when Mormon culture’s significant aspects, such as unique soda shops, will be highlighted more prominently.
