Dr. Doot, a popular Twitch streamer who recently finished Elden Ring, is now attempting to play and complete Hollow Knight: Silksong… using a saxophone as his controller!
When a difficult new game comes out, some players inevitably try to show everyone else how skilled they are. They might finish the game incredibly quickly, or find unusual and creative ways to beat it, often making others feel less accomplished.
Dr. Doot is famous in the gaming world for completing incredibly difficult challenges – not by using a standard controller, but by playing the saxophone!
Having conquered Elden Ring and its Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, he’s now playing Hollow Knight: Silksong and has already overcome one of its most challenging sections.
Dr. Doot clears Silksong’s Path of Pain using a saxophone
On September 25th, the streamer posted a video of himself finishing Path of Pain 2, a notoriously difficult platforming challenge in the game. Because many players find this area tough even with a standard controller, completing it using a musical instrument is a remarkable achievement.
Because it’s an electric saxophone, he programmed sound effects to each button, letting Hornet create a surprisingly enjoyable melody even while dodging danger. After a difficult climb, he finally reached the top and breathed a sigh of relief.
Almost done playing through all of Silksong with a saxophone and I finally found Path of Pain 2

He’s close to completing the game. During his stream on September 26th, he battled Lost Lace, a hidden boss needed to unlock the real ending. Despite losing to her multiple times before ending the stream, he promised to come back and defeat her.
Silksong is expected to be both a highly praised and challenging game when it releases in 2025. Expect to see lots of funny and impressive attempts to beat it online for a long time after that!
