This year’s top movie, one of the largest video games ever made, and now it’s being used to announce the NFL schedule for one of the United States’ most prominent sports organizations – yes, you got it! The Los Angeles Chargers unveiled their 2025-26 football schedule using Minecraft.
The Chargers’ official account shared a video on X, titled “Schedule Release: Minecraft Edition (Bolt Up)”. In addition to revealing their upcoming game schedule for this year and beyond, the video mirrors the Minecraft chicken jockey trend during the credits, complete with an excited crowd reacting to the scene.

Megan Julian, the senior director of social media at the Chargers, mentioned on X that the Minecraft video they released required more than 500 hours to produce within the game, and typically involved three meetings per week (occasionally up to five), mainly for the writers. The entire project was handled internally by the Chargers team. This marks the second consecutive year that the Chargers have unveiled their schedule using a video game; last year, they employed The Sims 2 in their NFL production.
This past week, the iconic martial artist, Bruce Lee, made an appearance in Minecraft. Unlike playable characters, he can be called upon to fight off mobs and creatures within the popular sandbox game. The Bruce Lee: Dragon Fury DLC is priced at 990 Minecoins, which is approximately $6.
Regarding football video games, the release of Madden NFL 26 is scheduled for August 14th. Additionally, this game will be available on Switch 2, which is the first time a Madden game will appear on a Nintendo console in more than ten years. Furthermore, Amazon MGM Studios are creating a movie inspired by a former NFL coach and commentator, with Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage playing the role of John Madden.
