This Classic Fire Emblem-Inspired RPG Launches In March

On March 24, gaming studio Developer Sword and Axe LLC, along with indie.io as the publisher, are set to release Dark Deity 2 for personal computers (PCs).

25 years have passed since the events of the first game, and the realm of Verroa, rebuilt by its previous protagonist Irving along with The Eternal Order, now confronts a fresh danger. The Holy Asverellian Empire is on a mission of territorial expansion, and it’s the Eternal Order’s responsibility to thwart this aggression. In Dark Deity 2, we follow the journey of Irving’s offspring, Gwyn and Riordian, as they lead The Eternal Delegation.

Dark Deity 2 is a role-playing game (RPG) that follows a strategic, turn-based format, similar to games like Fire Emblem. Notably, its combat style closely resembles the traditional Fire Emblem games on Game Boy, such as Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. In this game, combat characters are positioned across the battlefield. When these units clash with enemies, they’re transported to a different screen for a one-on-one fight.

20 characters, spread across 45 distinct class branches, offer diverse playstyles in this game. Each character has exclusive skills, passive traits, and strategic roles. The game boasts a high degree of customization, featuring an internal randomizer and campaign adjustment tools that can rearrange the order of character recruitment and difficulty settings, as well as allowing adjustments to experience and gold gain.

On the Steam page for Dark Deity 2, you can find a demonstration offering players a glimpse into the first four chapters of the game. However, neither the developer nor publisher has disclosed if Dark Deity 2 will be released on other platforms. Since its predecessor was made available on Nintendo Switch, there’s a strong possibility that the sequel might follow suit.
