This Black Ops 6 map change is exactly what everyone wanted in the beta

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent on Call of Duty titles, I must say that the recent reveal of the Black Ops 6 Skyline map adjustment has me both excited and skeptical. The original layout had its flaws, particularly the overly open pool area, which often resulted in frustrating encounters during Domination matches.

The complete list of starting maps for Black Ops 6 is now public knowledge, and an apparent adjustment has been noticed on one of the frequently played maps, which appears to tackle a significant problem that surfaced during the beta testing.

As a gamer, I’ve got to say that the Skyline map for Black Ops 6 has been the standout so far, impressing me with its sleek design of high-end apartments. The new omnimovement system seems tailor-made for this map, making gameplay feel seamless and exciting. That said, I can’t help but notice an issue with the pool area – it’s just too exposed, offering minimal protection against enemy fire.

In Domination mode, the problem was particularly evident because that’s where the B-flag is positioned. This frequently resulted in challenging situations where the opposing team could effortlessly eliminate you from various windows and elevated spots overlooking it. Consequently, whoever seized it initially usually kept control of it for a significant portion of the game.

Fortunately, the blog unveiling the complete launch schedule also disclosed an additional lower level to Skyline, situated right beside the hot tub zone. This minor alteration includes some steps and heightened ground which provides a secure spot to attempt capturing the objective.

For those who missed it, they’ve added a small sub-level to objective B

Players have positively received the update, generally acknowledging it as a step up from the beta’s version of Skyline. However, some players contend that certain areas, particularly in Domination mode, may remain challenging to control.

Reddit user ‘Limp-Grapefruit’ commented, “I suppose it’s an improvement because taking and holding position B seems more achievable. However, the pool area remains overly exposed in my opinion.

Another competitor commented, “I guess it will remain one of the toughest slopes in the competition. However, I won’t need to lie flat and hope for the best while on this slope anymore; I’ll just have to attempt to play a shot that fades in five different directions instead.

To experience the revamped Skyline action in Black Ops 6, we’ll need to be patient until its launch on October 25th. Whether the map might necessitate further tweaks remains uncertain for now. If you can’t wait that long, here are some instructions to preload it along with the release times for your specific region.
