Will Forte unexpectedly returned to Saturday Night Live and brought back his famous character, MacGruber, in a series of new sketches. The storyline revolves around MacGruber being linked to the Epstein List, with his assistant, Colton (played by Glen Powell), holding the key information. However, it’s revealed MacGruber was just a flight attendant, discreetly selling drugs to the wealthy passengers – he wasn’t one of them. This marks MacGruber’s first appearance on SNL since 2022, when Forte hosted to promote the MacGruber series on Peacock. Fans are hoping this sketch hints at a possible second season of the show.
Saturday Night Live also featured content related to Jeffrey Epstein. The show’s cold open depicted Donald Trump, played by James Austin Johnson, and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, played by Ashley Padilla, answering questions about the recently released Epstein emails. Trump’s character even joked about selling a blurry copy of one of the emails – referencing the nickname “Bubba” – for $800. These emails, which mention Trump multiple times, were made public on Wednesday, and some felt it was inconsiderate of Congress to release them so late in the day.
