The new series Marshals, a spin-off of Yellowstone, has officially launched! If you’re eager to see what Kayce Dutton (played by Luke Grimes) is up to, you can watch the first episode of Season 1 for free right now.
As a huge Yellowstone fan, it was definitely tough saying goodbye in December 2024, especially with the loss of John Dutton (Kevin Costner). But seeing the Duttons try to build new lives felt like a fitting end to their story. Still, the show was so popular, it wasn’t a surprise when news came out about more shows set in that world!
Before the next season of the Dutton Ranch story—focused on Beth and Rip Wheeler—we’ll see a new series called Marshals. It follows Kayce as he becomes a US Marshal, using his experience as both a cowboy and a Navy SEAL to enforce the law in Montana.
The first episode premiered on CBS last night, March 1st, and is now available on streaming. If you’re curious about the show or want to watch it without paying, you can do so – it’s currently free.
How to watch Marshals for free
If you don’t have cable or weren’t able to watch it when it first aired, you can now stream the first episode of Marshals on Paramount+. Plus, Walmart+ and T-Mobile both offer free trials you can use to watch.
The streaming service previously allowed new customers to try both its plans for seven days without charge, but that offer is no longer available.
If you have a Walmart+ membership, you get a free Paramount+ Essential plan. Plus, you can try Walmart+ for just $1 for 30 days, meaning you could enjoy both services for a month at a very low cost.
You can sign up for the Walmart+ trial here and its Paramount+ benefit here.
T-Mobile customers who have the All-In Home Internet plan can get a free Paramount+ Essentials subscription, offering another way to stream shows and movies.
You can get started by logging into your T-Mobile account. After verifying your identity, you’ll be guided to create a new Paramount+ account. If you have T-Mobile Home Internet, you can find additional details here.
So, I really want to watch the new episodes of The Marshal as soon as they come out on CBS, but I don’t have cable. Luckily, I found a way to do it without spending a ton of money!
How to watch Yellowstone spinoff live and free

To watch CBS, simply sign up for a free trial of a TV service that carries it. For example, you can try Paramount+ Premium, which also includes Hulu + Live TV and offers a three-day free trial for new users.
Another option is DirecTV Stream, which includes CBS in many areas and lets you try it free for five days with certain packages.
You can also watch CBS live on services like YouTube TV and FuboTV. Both often offer free trials for new users, though the length of the trial can change.
If you get CBS where you live, you can watch “Marshals” as it airs. Just remember to cancel any free trial before it ends if you don’t want to be billed.
When is Episode 2 out?

The second episode of Marshals will air on CBS at 8pm Eastern and Pacific Time, and 7pm Central Time on Sunday, March 8, 2026. It will also be available to stream on Paramount+ Premium at the same time. If you have the Paramount+ Essentials plan, you’ll be able to watch it starting March 9.
