Soon, the musical “Wicked: For Good” will rival “Wicked” in popularity, following Cynthia Erivo’s hosting role at the Tony Awards on June 8. Universal has unveiled the trailer for “Wicked: For Good,” which gives a sneak peek into some eagerly awaited scenes from the stage production, as well as some unexpected ones. Fans of Broadway can catch brief glimpses of Erivo and Ariana Grande singing iconic duets like “For Good” and “No Good Deed.” The intense gaze shared between Erivo and Grande could potentially set tumblr ablaze.

However, in this updated version, there are some fresh elements to note. Glinda is now seen wearing a wedding gown, although she and Fiyero were only engaged in the original musical without an official wedding. Director Jon M. Chu has the challenge of surpassing the captivating wedding scene from Crazy Rich Asians. Erivo performs a new tune that seems to be Elphaba’s original song, and Glinda will sing another new song. Dorothy, who remains in silhouette on stage, is now fully visible in this adaptation, walking down a certain road and receiving instructions for the Wicked Witch’s broom – though her face isn’t shown yet. Catch a glimpse of Dorothy when Wicked: For Good premieres on November 21.
