‘The White Lotus’ Hits 3.4 Million Viewers With Second Episode of Season 3, Up 40% From Premiere

On Sunday evening, “The White Lotus” attracted approximately 3.4 million viewers during its second episode of the third season, representing a 40% jump in viewership when compared to the season opener the previous week.

The total viewership figure is a blend of Nielsen’s count of linear viewers on HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery’s own tally of streams on Max. It’s worth noting that the Season 3 premiere has seen over 10.2 million viewers in the week following its release, which is a significant jump from its initial 2.4 million same-day viewers. This new episode garnered a 57% increase compared to the viewership of the Season 2 premiere in 2022, and this upward trend has continued, as the current total viewership stands at 92% higher than where the Season 2 premiere was after the same period.

According to the viewership data from the initial two episodes of Season 3, Warner Bros. Discovery is boasting that “The White Lotus” is their second most successful returning season on Max, surpassed only by “House of the Dragon.” This is quite an accomplishment, considering that “House of the Dragon” benefits from the established fanbase of the original series, “Game of Thrones.

The third season of “The White Lotus” will be set in the picturesque Koh Samui, Thailand, following the previous seasons that were based on fictional resorts in Hawaii and Italy. Natasha Rothwell will reprise her character from Season 1, Belinda Lindsey, with an ensemble cast that includes Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, Walton Goggins, Aimee Lou Wood, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Sam Nivola. Mike White continues to be the driving force behind the show as creator and executive producer.
