Breaking News: Colton is believed to be a time traveler. Although we discovered this fact in Episode 2, the reasons and methods behind his use of the pond have yet to be uncovered. Thanks to Susanna’s drawings, the Landrys have deduced that he visited his own son in 1814.

It’s unclear whether or not Colton is aware that Jacob is actually his adult son from the future. Isn’t it puzzling? After all, at the close of Episode 8, Colton rescued Jacob from the fire on Landry, thus preserving his life.

Jacob shares with Elliot, Alice, and Del about his recent experiences. They ponder Colton’s belief that he is to blame, but Jacob clarifies that Cyrus is truly responsible. He threatens Cyrus, saying he will come to regret it, and emphasizes that even though Cyrus might be dead to others, he isn’t dead to him.

If Colton seemed to be hiding something or selectively sharing his family history, it might be due to feelings of guilt about some past events. This is according to Elliot’s observation. Later, Jacob informs Elliot that Kat is currently with Susanna and Thomas.

Each accuses the other of being incapable of recognizing if something similar could have ended their lives in alternate realities, leading Kat to think they “can’t dodge destiny.” Meanwhile, Elliot unintentionally knocks a clock from the mantle, revealing a hidden compartment within the wooden frame. Upon opening it, he finds what appears to be a slim golden handle.

At the vineyard, Louis expresses his sense of pride that the “original families” are collaborating with him to realize his vision of a winery, following the installation of a cutting-edge irrigation system. Meanwhile, as Louis directs him to complete some forms in the office, Jacob pays close attention to the keys required for the tank.

In 1974, Alice returns and discovers that Colton has been invited to San Francisco for a demo recording session. However, the producer wants Alice as well, but she can’t attend. Alice is surprised when she finds out Evelyn plans to go too, stating it’s her chance to escape. Colton confides in Alice about his hope that this trip will lead him to Del, as he hasn’t heard from her since she departed. Alice attempts to travel with Colton, but Evelyn refuses, insisting they need to converse privately.

In a heartfelt confession, I’d like to clarify my actions by the pond during Episode 8. Evelyn has graciously understood that I was right all along – it’s undeniable how much Colton is still under Del’s influence. I firmly believe that our journey to San Francisco will be the key to breaking this spell, as I’m deeply in love with him and hope to rekindle our bond.

In response, Evelyn says, “It seems we’ve had different priorities all along.” With a firm belief in pursuing personal aspirations, Evelyn then departs.

She expresses concern about not feeling secure, explaining that if Cyrus perishes, his sons will likely seize control and oust her. If he survives, she continues to be under his control. Kat advises her to document Cyrus’ true actions and alter his will for protection. Suddenly, a voice yells out that Cyrus has regained consciousness.

Colton’s time travel past is more innocent than it looks

Alice observes Colton leaping into the lake without success, so she shouts, “What on earth are you up to in there?” just as the scene fades out.

The story resumes with Susanna by Cyrus’ bed, as a doctor informs her that due to lung damage caused by smoke inhalation, he may never regain his ability to speak. Kat stands silently in the corridor, watching over him, but Cyrus is too weak to acknowledge her presence.

Later by the pond, Colton recounts that Fern had always warned him not to enter the pond until he was grown up, trusting the tales she shared with him completely. He admits that it was in 1965 when he took the plunge for the first time, trying to rescue Evelyn, but no event transpired.

It was then that Colton’s perspective shifted, thinking the pond posed a risk for children. But on the final day of school (the day Jasper had promised him the job at Coyle’s), he angrily tossed his backpack into the pond following an argument with his mother. This action was taken out of anger.

In a previous episode set in 1814, he plunged into the same place when he reached for it. Since then, he’s been there, as we saw at the end of the last episode. He confides that he encountered his forebears, implying to Alice that Jacob was from his own era. Colton claims Jacob helped them navigate the Year of No Summer by teaching him some songs from Jasper’s people. However, when he shared this information with Fern, she was furious. “You revealed their future… you violated the rules,” she scolded him.

As a gamer, I couldn’t let Evelyn depart without knowing the truth about that pond, having been captivated by Fern’s tales as a kid myself. Since she was headed to Morocco, I decided to share my findings with her using an invisible ink message hidden within the pages of Alice books – hoping she would find them before leaving town. Unfortunately, she never got around to reading them, and then Del showed up in our little town.

Following Rick’s passing, Colton contemplated the possibility of time travel as a means to prevent the accident. He reasoned that the pond had a mysterious ability to guide one to necessary destinations. However, instead of preventing the accident, he encountered Cyrus igniting the Landry house, a situation he felt responsible for due to his knowledge about the crops.

Colton expressed his intention of attempting one last jump before departing the city, as he felt that everything seemed broken due to him violating the rules. When Alice enquired about his reason for sharing this information, Colton hinted that he suspected she was a time traveler like himself.

She replies, “I’m not a time traveler, but I think you are in a sense,” and in 1816, Susanna proposes an agreement to Cyrus. To fulfill their desires, Susanna suggests she will speak for him while concealing his health issues, and manage Port Haven as she deems appropriate. Though taken aback, Cyrus eventually consents.

Del returns and Evelyn’s heart is shattered

As I stroll back, I spot Del lounging on the porch. Without delay, Colton turns to Del and proposes marriage in front of me, with Alice observing from afar. To my surprise, Del consents. Now, present-day Del receives another ominous letter, but this time Alice shares with me some intriguing findings she’s uncovered.

As a gamer, I’m still reeling from the fact that Colton time-traveled, but my disbelief was doubled when I found out he openly confessed the truth to Alice. Alice defended him, claiming he was so traumatized by the entire ordeal that he didn’t want to burden me with it. She asked me why I returned on the very day of our engagement, and I simply replied we’d discuss it at a later time.

The scene shifts to the intimate engagement, where later, Del discloses that her father is facing severe financial difficulties. This predicament led to her being sent to Port Haven initially, and her family wasn’t thrilled about her return. “Money defined them,” Del remarks, “and without it, they transformed completely.” She explains that they neglected her and became engrossed in their losses, but now they’ve lost her as well.

Kat finishes with Thomas for Elliot

Kat shares with Thomas about Susanna’s arrangement, pointing out that leaping ahead in time through the pond is something he can never do. For things to function smoothly, Kat must remain in the year 1816 permanently. She expresses, “People enter your life for a purpose, a period, or a lasting relationship.

Kat thinks that Thomas was intentionally guiding her on the right path regarding love. Elijah suggests to Kat that they should leave the house entirely, as Kat insists on finding a solution for their problems. Tearfully, she stands outside, and Elliot arrives, giving her a deep kiss. He reveals that Jacob had brought him to 1816, who had already returned.

Kat brings Elijah over, and Elliot jumps right in to assist. Later on, Thomas comes back to the farm, spotting Elliot and Kat working side by side. For a moment, they exchange glances from afar, giving each other a nod before continuing with their tasks separately.

Susanna saves Landry Farm

1974 sees Alice encountering a distraught Evelyn. Believing herself bereft of hope due to her solitude, Evelyn thinks there’s nothing left to dream about in her life. However, Alice firmly disagrees, expressing that an extraordinary and beautiful life awaits Evelyn. Alice also shares, “I have always supported you,” as a gesture of encouragement.

Susanna shows up accompanied by locals and supplies to aid in repairing the house, claiming that they were sent personally by Cyrus. However, Kat is aware of the truth; Susanna mentions that her initial action under Cyrus’ name needed to be for their sake. She aspires to be recognized as Port Haven’s hero, admitting that she would need to exclude a chapter about Cyrus if her book were ever published. Emotionally, Kat introduces Elliot and Susanna, both grateful that Susanna isn’t being forced to make decisions against her will.

Currently, Alice informs Del that she persuaded Evelyn to leave with them. Jumping to 1974, Evelyn pays a farewell visit to Colton and Del, stating they can keep Lingermore for as long as required. Evelyn explains to Colton that since he’s her closest friend, she must let her go. “You have dreams of your own to pursue, don’t let anyone hold you back,” she says, directly addressing Del. “I suppose I owe you a favor, Delilah.

Alice and Max share their first kiss

In a café, Alice encounters Max, who is discussing a pendant attached to his keychain that once belonged to Evelyn. Max shares memories of their close friendship, recounting how Evelyn wed at a young age, an event that did not go well for her, leading her to abandon her married name.

Max confesses he couldn’t answer when Evelyn called on the night she passed away, as he simply couldn’t bear the thought of her falling ill. He laments that it is something he will always regret. Del wonders if either of them spotted Jacob lately, as Kat mentions he probably drove off with the truck. Meanwhile, Del discovers Jacob’s laptop showing details about the winery wildfires, while it turns out that Jacob had broken into the fuel tank and started setting the vineyard ablaze. Upon arrival, Del tries to persuade him to let go of the past and move on. Eventually, she successfully convinces him to get back into his truck and leave. However, surveillance cameras captured the entire incident.
