‘The Way Home’ Moves to Hallmark+ for Season 3, Adds New Cast Members Ahead of January Premiere (EXCLUSIVE)

As a movie critic with a penchant for time-traveling dramas and romance, I must say that “The Way Home” Season 3 is shaping up to be a delightful journey through the annals of history and the complexities of love. With its captivating storyline and intriguing characters, this series is sure to enthrall viewers who appreciate a good blend of romance, mystery, and suspense.

The Journey Home” resumes its trip – this time moving from Hallmark Channel to streaming platform, Hallmark+. Exclusively, EbMaster has the news that Season 3 premieres on January 2, 2025.

The season will then make its linear premiere on Hallmark Channel in fall 2025.

Season 3 resumes with the same momentum as Season 2, finding Kat (Chyler Leigh) and her brother Jacob (Spencer Macpherson) poised to enter the Landry home unexpectedly by Del (Andie MacDowell). This season will introduce a new phase as Kat and Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) are transported back to 1974, the year when Del and Colton (Jefferson Brown) first became acquainted as teenagers. Simultaneously, Alice encounters a young girl named Evelyn Goodwin, but their bond could create troubles in the current timeline.

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined the extraordinary cast! In this exciting new role, I’ll be bringing to life the teenage versions of beloved characters Del and Colton, while the talented Devin Cecchetto takes on the part of Evelyn. It’s an honor to contribute to this captivating production!

Currently, Elliot (Evan Williams) and Kat are navigating their fresh romance while simultaneously dealing with their intricate pasts – such as Kat’s ties to the 19th century. At the end of Season 2, Kat exchanged a kiss with both Elliot in the present and Thomas (Kris Holden-Reid), the individual who wounded her at the start of the season, in the year 1814.

Kate Redinger, senior director of programming at Hallmark Media, expresses her admiration for the captivating storytelling by Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke, and Marly Reed. She notes that each season surpasses the last, with this one promising to be exceptional. The introduction of intriguing new characters and compelling storylines hints at another gripping season ahead for viewers.

In May, co-showrunner Heather Conkie acknowledged that it’s quite intricate for Kat to have two romantic interests who hail from distinct periods of time.

It’s clear that Kat can’t abandon her daughter or dwell on the past, as that would be a tremendous sacrifice. At the same time, it’s delightful to follow Elliot and Kat’s romantic tale, and the gradual development of their relationship with Thomas, which began as mutual dislike but blossomed into something more by episode 10.
