Over the past nine years, Dead by Daylight has teamed up with multiple horror series, making it almost certain that The Walking Dead would join them eventually. Now, this partnership is nearly here, and three characters from The Walking Dead are set to appear in Dead by Daylight.
Behaviour Interactive recently released a sneak peek at their Dead by Daylight and The Walking Dead crossover, incorporating certain elements from the former’s opening credits and featuring the well-known theme music from the latter.
In the upcoming game, characters from “The Walking Dead” series such as Rick Grimes, Michonne, and Daryl Dixon will join the cast as new survivors. Notably, Daryl will make his entrance through a special outfit from The Walking Dead collection. Additionally, actors Andrew Lincoln (Rick) and Norman Reedus (Daryl) are set to lend their voices to the game. Interestingly, Danai Gurira, who played Michonne in the series, was not explicitly named in the announcement regarding her role in the game.
In the virtual world of this game, I, as Rick, possess unique traits: I can draw the attention of the antagonist once I save a survivor who has been trapped. On the flip side, Michonne, in her digital persona, gains the power to momentarily restore her own health every time she helps heal other survivors.
Alongside the iconic Daryl Dixon attire, there are several alternatives for both characters Rick and Michonne. Notably, Rick’s outfits will include unique color variations, allowing players to pick between his Last Day on Earth and Brutal Awakening costumes. As for Michonne, she has her Next World outfit and What We Become ensemble available as well.
As a devoted fan, I can hardly contain my excitement as some iconic locations from the series make their return! The infamous prison from seasons 3 and 4, along with the chilling hospital doors bearing the ominous message “Don’t Open, Dead Inside,” will be meticulously recreated in a fresh map tile. This magical addition will materialize only when either Rick or Michonne join the festivities within the Garden of Joy map.
In beta testing right now is the collaboration between Dead by Daylight and The Walking Dead. The complete version will be available for all players starting from July 29.
