The Upcoming Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Daima Edition Is Getting Physical PS5 And Switch Versions

The popular action RPG Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, based on the Dragon Ball series, will be getting an expansion titled “Dragon Ball: Daima” later this year. This expansion will be released in two segments, with Part 1 arriving in September 2025 and Part 2 scheduled for March 2026. Players who already own the game on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or PC can buy the expansion as a digital add-on. For those who don’t yet own the game, a new physical edition called “Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot – Daima Edition” will be available later this year. This edition includes both the base game and the two-part “Daima” expansion in one package. The physical release date for “Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot – Daima Edition” is yet to be announced, but preorders for the PS5 and Switch versions are currently available at Amazon for $50.

In the two-part Daima expansion, players take on the role of Goku, transformed into his younger self, as they delve into the Demon Realm. Accompanying this diminutive Saiyan are new characters from the Daima anime – Glorio, Shin, and Panzy. The trio assists Goku on a quest to learn fresh abilities and locate the Dragon Balls hidden in the Demon Realm. This will enable him to return to his normal size and regain his full strength.

If you haven’t heard about it yet, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot was released in 2020 and revisits various storylines from the manga and anime series, beginning with the Saiyan Saga and concluding with the Majin Buu Saga. It also enriches the universe with fresh content. Subsequent downloadable content packs were added after the initial game release, which include five additional chapters inspired by the Battle of the Gods and Resurrection ‘F’ story arcs from Dragon Ball Super, along with a brand-new campaign featuring Trunks. The game merges intense combat sequences characteristic of the franchise with role-playing elements such as leveling up Goku, completing side missions, and exploring expansive zones. In TopMob’s review, Heidi Kemps described Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s contemporary, semi-open narrative style (despite a few minor issues) as effective. The game initially launched on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, with upgraded visual versions later released for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

If you’re eager to try Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot before the upcoming Daima expansion releases, your best bet is to opt for the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Legendary Edition. This version encompasses the main game, both Season Pass DLC expansions, and some additional in-game items. The only thing it doesn’t include is the Daima expansion. Right now, the PC edition of this package is available at Fanatical for $26.39 as part of a limited-time sale, which is a significant reduction from its regular price of $120. Additionally, the standard and Deluxe Editions are on sale at Fanatical as well. Console gamers can find the game on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, or Nintendo Switch eShop.
