This season was already challenging, but it culminated in Andy Cohen showing up to the reunion in overalls! He paid tribute to winner Rob Rausch with the outfit, though he quickly changed back into his usual hosting attire to welcome Lisa Rinna. It’s surprising to see them both back on the reunion stage! Lisa is joined by fellow original ‘Traitors’ Rob and Candiace, as well as secret Traitor Donna Kelce and recruited Traitor Eric. Ultimately, only Rob won, and he says he plans to use the prize money to finally buy Maura the Birkin bag he promised her as an apology.
The main debate is whether Rob betrayed Lisa and Candiace because he was trying to save himself, or if he was the reason their situation fell apart. The women insist they never planned to turn against Rob, but he believes it was inevitable. It’s a pointless argument, similar to a classic fan debate, but it leads to a hilarious moment where Candiace yells “That’s nonsense!” at Rob and tells him to toughen up.
When Maura arrived, everyone on the couch expressed sympathy for her being eliminated, but also acknowledged she made choices that led to it. Maura felt foolish, but Donna quickly pointed out that she wasn’t alone in trusting Rob – almost everyone in the castle was fooled, except for Johnny and Tara. Donna is quickly becoming a fan favorite, and I really want to chat with her about reality TV – she watches all the Housewives shows, as well as Survivor and Big Brother, and was clearly enjoying her time. She also revealed that Taylor Swift is a fan of The Traitors, which means a Candiace Dillard Bassett collaboration on Taylor’s next album is likely to happen!
Things got tense when the conversation shifted to whether Rob and Maura had a connection. Maura denied anything was happening, even though Rob admitted to flirting. She jokingly suggested something might happen if he bought her a Birkin bag, prompting Porsha to quip that he wouldn’t even buy a shirt. However, the whole discussion became irrelevant when Rob revealed he’s already dating someone new. Some viewers wondered if this timing was simply karma at work, considering his recent popularity.
Johnny and Tara, who nearly won, joined us by video call from the Olympics in Milan. Luckily, they always seem to be dressed for a celebration! They had a difficult season, but finally mastered everything just in time – Tara described it like training for a sport, where every mistake helps you achieve a flawless performance. Sadly, their moment of triumph was upset by Maura, who’s feeling terrible about what happened.
When the first group of players arrived, Colton immediately faced scrutiny for his risky strategy, but he stood by his choices. However, he then had to deal with a shocking accusation from Candiace. She revealed that Rob had told her Colton was secretly working against them, which caused Porsha to react strongly. Viewers are hoping Bravo will bring back The People’s Couch, but focus all the cameras on Porsha – she’s endlessly entertaining to watch, even just watching TV! Rob quickly denied Candiace’s claim, explaining that the show’s setup prevents cheating, and Colton clarified he only spoke with Rob believing him to be a loyal player.
Colton’s attempt to team up with Lisa raises questions about his motives. He claims he was simply trying to get himself recruited, a strategic move in the game, even though a Faithful player and a Traitor can’t truly win together. The conversation then turns to a controversial statement he made: Lisa presses him about saying he wanted to “take her hostage” as a Traitor. This seems like a way for her to address concerns about his past behavior without directly accusing him. Colton clarifies he meant keeping a known Traitor close and protected, rather than immediately eliminating them. Lisa isn’t satisfied with his explanation, pointing out his choice of words was unusual. The conversation escalates when Colton reminds her of a heated moment where he threatened her, and even physically gagged her. He then vaguely mentions the negativity he’s received and its connection to his personal history, but that part of the discussion is largely skipped over. Any potential outburst or walk-off from Colton was edited out of the footage.
The real drama isn’t about what Lisa said, but whether or not she kissed someone. Yam Yam insists their lips touched, but Lisa claims it was just close. Dorinda jokingly points out that ‘Housewives’ always protect their lipstick, implying a kiss wouldn’t happen. Lisa and Yam Yam then tried to recreate the moment, wishing someone had recorded it. Unfortunately, there’s no footage of the event.
Andy shifted the conversation to the “Real Housewives” cast, giving Kristen a chance to speak. She shared that early in the season, Candiace seemingly forgot they were both on Bravo. Kristen joked that if Candiace considered her a “Bravo sister,” then the late James Lipton was too! This led to a discussion of drama between the Housewives, which started when Lisa voted Porsha off. Porsha was so upset by this betrayal that she went home and smashed all of Lisa’s lipsticks, showing Andy the evidence in a bag of broken cosmetics. Lisa casually replied that the line had already gone out of business, and you could practically see the show’s producer, Andy, trying to figure out how to bring her back onto the show.
Caroline says she’s fine with how her character died on the show, thanks to Lisa. However, a conversation about Lisa’s ‘villainous’ behavior quickly devolved into a debate over how long she’d been playing that role. Lisa initially claimed eight years, but Andy pointed out it was really just her last season of Housewives. Despite all the back-and-forth, Caroline ultimately believes it was a smart move in the game.
Unfortunately, my TV messed up while I was watching the reunion, and it switched to a particularly gross episode of Dr. Pimple Popper – seriously, a drainage bag burst! Then, to make things worse, Michael Rapaport appeared on screen. It’s no secret nobody likes him, and he started off surprisingly calm. But it didn’t take long for him to lose it when Porsha called him out. The irony is incredible – he told her to use her words, after barely making sense all season! Then, he had the nerve to yell at Porsha, and everyone was shocked. Even Dorinda was horrified when he started using her famous “Clip!” catchphrase in a mean way. Donna was clearly embarrassed, and you could just feel the collective dislike for him in the room.
The conversation eventually addressed his offensive remarks, but instead of taking full responsibility, he attempted to blame another cast member, Johnny, for calling him out. He then awkwardly tried to discredit Johnny and fell back on repeating a line from another castmate, Dorinda, over and over. Everyone in the room visibly reacted negatively whenever he spoke, not just from fear of being splattered with saliva. He’s not only irritating, but he’s also making for bad television. Many people didn’t even start watching the season until he was removed, highlighting how detrimental his presence was. Hopefully, this situation serves as a warning to all networks: this person should not be given a platform on television again, except perhaps as part of a police sketch.
With the reunion winding down, a fun award was given for the best outfits, and Maura happily accepted it for her hats. Despite being a good loser, she felt a bit silly, so the lighthearted prize felt well-deserved. Everyone congratulated Rob on his win and presented him with flowers. Then, Andy playfully hinted that the woman Rob had been talking to might be nearby. Donna quickly interjected, pointing out Rob’s desire for children, and stole the spotlight. The group then celebrated by forming a conga line and dancing into the night.
