After a significant wait, the new version of “The Thomas Crown Affair” has been given a release date. The initial film from 1968 featured Steve McQueen playing a wealthy charmer who masterminded a heist; this role was taken over by Pierce Brosnan in the 1999 remake. In the upcoming reimagining of “The Thomas Crown Affair,” penned by Drew Pearce, Michael B. Jordan will serve as both producer and director, with Taylor Russell from “Bones and All” joining him on screen. Jordan first presented this project to MGM back in 2016, and after Amazon Studio’s acquisition of the franchise rights in 2023, they announced their plans to reboot the series.
By Deadline, the Michael B. Jordan-led remake of “The Thomas Crown Affair” is scheduled for release in theaters on March 5, 2027. As part of its distribution plan, Amazon MGM Studios will showcase the movie in IMAX theaters during its theatrical run.
