After a four-year break, we’re finally learning more about Season 2 of the Prime Video action series, The Terminal List. The show stars Chris Pratt as James Reece, a former Navy SEAL who seeks revenge on those who attacked his team and family during a covert operation. A prequel, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, was released in August 2025.
Now that Season 2 of The Terminal List is coming soon, we’re learning more about what to expect. In the first season, Reece completed his mission to find and defeat those responsible for the ambush of his platoon and the deaths of his family, symbolically ending his quest for revenge. With new and returning enemies likely to emerge, here’s a breakdown of everything we know about Season 2.

Season 1 of The Terminal List, based on Jack Carr’s 2018 novel, premiered on Amazon Prime Video on July 1, 2022. The eight-episode series centers on James Reece, a highly decorated Navy SEAL, who relentlessly seeks revenge against those responsible for the violent deaths of his teammates, wife, and daughter. Having lost everything, Reece creates a list of targets and sets out to avenge his family.
Even though critics didn’t love The Terminal List – it only received a 42% rating on Rotten Tomatoes – the show was popular with viewers and has been renewed for a second season. Amazon announced the renewal in February 2023 (according to Deadline), and also revealed plans for a prequel series called The Terminal List: Dark Wolf. This new series will explore the backstory of Ben Edwards (played by Taylor Kitsch), a character who later becomes an enemy of the show’s main character.
Pratt confirmed the renewal, stating:
I’m happy to share that season two of The Terminal List is coming soon, and I’m excited to be back as James Reece. This season will be even more thrilling and full of action than the first, and I can’t wait for you all to see it.
In March 2025, Collider said that filming for Season 2 was expected to start sometime between March and autumn 2025. It now appears that filming has finished and the season is currently being edited and refined.
What Will ‘The Terminal List’ Season 2 Be About?

Prime Video
The first season of The Terminal List was based on Jack Carr’s novel The Terminal List, the first in a seven-book series. Season 2 will cover the second book, True Believer. In this installment, James Reece is forced out of hiding when a large-scale terrorist attack occurs during the holidays, leading him on a dangerous solo mission.
The story shows James struggling to resurface after going on a rampage of revenge. He’s reluctant to leave hiding, and this leads to…
This individual, working unwillingly for the U.S. government, is sent around the world to eliminate terrorist leaders. Their mission reveals a dangerous conspiracy, including a CIA officer working against the country and a secret plot to assassinate key figures, with potentially global consequences.
In late February 2026, Jack Carr shared a sneak peek from Season 2, revealing that it will be based on his novel, True Believer. The footage showed Chris Pratt holding a clapboard confirming the adaptation.
In a recent Instagram video, Carr excitedly shared that editing of the first episode is going incredibly well. He expressed his enthusiasm for the show’s upcoming release, praising the entire team’s performance and hoping all episodes will be available at once for viewers to binge-watch.
I saw Chris Carr asking a really interesting question – would we all hold off on watching all eight episodes of Dark Wolf at once if they released it weekly? He was curious if fans did that with the first season, The Terminal List. He really wants us to watch Dark Wolf before Season 2 of The Terminal List comes out, which makes me think characters from Dark Wolf are going to show up in the next season! It’s a smart move to get us invested in both shows, I guess.

Season 2 of The Terminal List will bring back Chris Pratt as James Reece, and will also feature characters from the series Dark Wolf. Several key figures from Dark Wolf – including Navy SEALs Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch) and Raife Hastings (Tom Hopper), and CIA operative Jules Landry (Luke Hemsworth) – are expected to have important roles, creating a crossover between the two shows.
I’m really excited for Season 2 of The Terminal List! Along with some familiar faces from the first season, they’ve added a bunch of great new actors. Gabriel Luna, who I loved in FUBAR, is joining as Freddy Strain, a former SEAL Team 6 Chief and CIA operative. Martin Sensmeier (Yellowstone) will play Sergeant Major Otakay, and Costa Ronin (The Americans) is going to be a character named Vasili Adrenov. Plus, Edwin Hodge (The Purge) and Caitlin Bissett (Quantum Leap) are both making guest appearances, which is always a fun surprise!

It’s uncertain who will be back for Season 2 of The Terminal List, as many key characters didn’t survive the first season. Unless we see them in flashbacks, characters like James’ wife, Lauren Reece (Riley Keough), his daughter Lucy (Arlo Mertz), Steve Horn (Jai Courtney) from Capstone Industries, Saul Agnon (Sean Gunn), Captain Pillar (Nick Chinlund), and Commander Cox (LaMonica Garrett) are unlikely to return.
When Will ‘The Terminal List’ Season 2 Be Released?

Amazon Prime Video
While there hasn’t been an official announcement, most people working in the TV industry believe Season 2 of The Terminal List will likely be released on Prime Video around 2026. Chris Pratt mentioned this during an interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast in January 2026, saying:
We’ve finished filming Season 2 and are now in post-production. We’ve completed the editing for six out of the eight episodes.
In February 2026, Chris Carr announced that the last episode of Season 2 was being edited. Because of this, fans can expect the show, The Terminal List, to return sometime in the fall or winter of 2026.
Now that Season 2 of The Terminal List includes characters from the popular series Dark Wolf, it’s uncertain if Dark Wolf will get additional seasons. For now, the important news is that filming for The Terminal List Season 2 is complete, and it will introduce a new story and new characters when it arrives on Prime Video later in 2026.
