Vladimir is seducing streaming audiences around the globe.
Netflix’s latest popular series is a steamy thriller based on the book by Julia May Jonas. It centers around M, an English professor played by Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz, who starts a passionate relationship with a new colleague named Vladimir, portrayed by Leo Woodall (known from The White Lotus and Netflix’s One Day). The cast also features Jessica Henwick, Ellen Robertson, and John Slattery.
The new series Vladimir, which premiered on Netflix on March 5th, has quickly become popular, reaching the No. 4 spot on the daily Top 10 list in the United States after only three days.
It’s currently performing well, ranking just below popular shows like Bridgerton (No. 3), The TikTok Killer (No. 2), and The Dinosaurs (No. 1). It’s even surpassed The Night Agent (No. 6), which has already been renewed for a fourth season.
The 2026 film Vladimir is also gaining popularity on Netflix worldwide. According to data from FlixPatrol, the movie is currently a Top 10 hit in over 80 countries. It’s even reached the No. 1 spot in 13 countries: Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Kenya, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Pakistan, Romania, Serbia, and Ukraine.
Whether Vladimir will continue to be a hit in more countries or maintain its popularity for weeks to come is still uncertain. But if it stays popular worldwide, we might see a sequel soon.
Although the first season of Vladimir doesn’t definitively lead into another, the main character, M, isn’t always truthful. This means the show could be continued with more episodes that explore the story further.
Honestly, even if the show keeps getting good ratings, I’m a little worried. A lot of fans seem really divided about Vladimir. I’ve been checking scores online, and they’re not great – a 58% on Rotten Tomatoes, 4.8 out of 10 on Metacritic, and just a 6.0 out of 10 on IMDb. It’s not exactly a ringing endorsement, you know?
