As a devoted fan, I often find myself questioning the roles of studio executives – the ones who, for tax reasons, put projects like “Coyote vs. Acme” on hold, or break the hearts of talented individuals like Sally from “Barry” by stating that an enigmatic algorithm has decided their dreams won’t come true. However, what if we, as spectators, are underestimating the challenges they face in their line of work? That’s exactly the premise of Seth Rogen’s latest sitcom, “The Studio.” In this series, he steps into the shoes of a movie executive, desperately striving to create films that are both critically acclaimed and commercially successful. Given the nature of the business, Rogen understands the need for an A-list cast, filled with regular stars and guest stars who shine even brighter. Here’s what we know so far about this intriguing exploration into show business.
Who’s in the cast?
In the show “The Studio“, Rogen takes on the role of Mark, the freshly appointed head at Continental Studios. Accompanying him are Catherine O’Hara as Patty Leigh, his predecessor, Ike Barinholtz as Sal Saperstein, Mark’s close workmate and friend, Chase Sui Wonders as Quinn Hacket, who was once Mark’s assistant but now holds a higher position as a creative executive, and Kathryn Hahn as marketing executive Amy.
You mentioned guest stars?

Absolutely, there are numerous guest stars featured in this production. Among those not portraying themselves are Bryan Cranston, who takes on the role of Griffin Mill with a mustache; Dewayne Perkins from “The Blackening” as the studio‘s yes man, Tyler; Keyla Monteresso Mejia known for “Curb Your Enthusiasm” as Petra, an assistant; and David Krumholtz from “Oppenheimer” as Mitch White, an agent. This information was shared in a video interview with Apple TV+ on March 24 by Seth Rogen himself.
In the video, Rogen lists a number of well-known guest stars – Martin Scorsese, Charlize Theron, Zoë Kravitz, Zac Efron, Olivia Wilde, Greta Lee (who is also seen in the preview), Anthony Mackie, Ron Howard, Dave Franco, Quinta Brunson, and Ramy Youssef. This isn’t a complete list of notable figures who will make an appearance. Some of these individuals are slated to portray themselves in the production.
Additionally, there are several other individuals not specifically named by Rogen who appear in the credits. This group includes Steve Buscemi, Ice Cube, Paul Dano, creators of Hacks, Paul W. Downs and Lucia Aniello, Lil Rel Howery, Josh Hutcherson, Johnny Knoxville, Sarah Polley, Adam Scott, Jean Smart, Zach Snyder, Aaron Sorkin, Antony Starr, Nicholas Stoller, and Ziwe. Can you recall them all?

This bustling jazz club becomes increasingly challenging as Mark struggles to navigate his profession. “It’s like being in a meat grinder,” Patty of O’Hara remarks. In less than a minute, an unfortunate individual is struck by a vehicle. Is “The Bear” designed for those who work within “The Bear”?
What is the release date?
The executives at Apple TV+ decided The Studio will premiere on March 26. Hope they enjoy.
