I have mixed feelings about the Los Angeles episodes. It’s entertaining to see these online moms experiencing new things and figuring out how they want to present themselves – both online and for the cameras. However, nearly an hour of scenes focused on press interactions, many involving discussions about sensitive topics like assault, was a lot. That said, the episodes did succeed in making me feel trapped and incredibly tense, like I was stuck going back and forth between hair and makeup and the car, constantly on edge. Honestly, it left me feeling stressed, anxious, and wanting to escape into my own space.
Things are moving fast! This week is a big one for my favorite MomTok star. We’re back at the Sofitel, and honestly, the view from the window was lovely, even if just for a second, before Whitney started talking to Miranda about her dinner with Demi. Apparently, Whitney initially felt alright about it, but a conversation with Conner changed everything and now she’s feeling uneasy. Miranda didn’t hold back, though – she basically said they don’t have the full story, but Demi is definitely not being truthful. It’s wild how quickly these little ones grow up, isn’t it?
As everyone headed to the Entertainment Tonight interview, different groups started to form and express their opinions. Even though people disagree on many things, there’s a general consensus that sharing pictures of your child with strangers is strange. One group continued to be upset about issues with JZ extensions, while Demi explained that the situation with Marciano shouldn’t involve the other women and doesn’t make sense to discuss publicly. It’s pointed out that if Demi wanted privacy, she perhaps shouldn’t have shared details with her large Instagram following. Many find it confusing that someone who allegedly wanted to keep a sexual assault quiet is now making public accusations, especially without involving official authorities. The argument is made that seeking justice through public opinion is unreliable, and handling the situation privately—like her contract negotiations—would have been a better approach. This seems to be the core of Miranda’s disapproval of how Demi is dealing with everything.
I initially didn’t understand why they kept bringing up the Halloween argument during the Entertainment Tonight interview with the whole cast. Then it hit me: their main goal was to promote the new season, and Marciano wasn’t really part of it. Hopefully, they won’t film season four while still promoting season three, or we’ll be stuck in an endless loop of discussing the drama surrounding the press tours themselves.
So, Taylor and Miranda don’t believe Chase pushed Demi. Jen seems to think Demi was actually threatening legal action. The interviewer said everyone’s being totally genuine, and honestly, I think he’s right. But it’s clear the women are frustrated with each other for not knowing how to handle the press. What’s really getting to Demi, though, is having to explain herself and defend against the actions of men she used to try and keep happy – now that she’s finally stopped doing that.
It’s a strong point, but things get awkward when Demi overhears Miranda and Whitney discussing her at the hotel. Usually, Miranda would stop a conversation if the subject walked in, but she doesn’t. Instead, she challenges Demi, arguing that claiming Chase’s accidental bump turned into a shove is a big exaggeration and changes how things actually happened as Miranda witnessed them.
Honestly, things got really tense with Miranda. We just went back and forth, arguing without actually solving anything – Whitney thinks we were all too focused on being right, myself included. After Miranda left, Whitney texted her to check in, and the other women totally took that the wrong way, assuming Whitney sided with Demi. Then, everyone started talking about how Demi was using her identity as a woman to blow this little disagreement way out of proportion, and how that actually hurts people who’ve experienced real assault. It was…a lot. I’m already predicting the ‘MomTok’ rulebook is going to need a serious overhaul next year to define what ‘women supporting women’ actually means after all this.
When it comes to supporting women, Bret is openly dismissive. He disparaged Miranda, calling her response “typical of someone deeply rooted in white trash.” He expressed complete disrespect for women in general, labeling them as “lying, cowardly” and stating he wants to create a chaotic and sensational scene, comparing it to the Jerry Springer show. This was said even knowing he was being recorded, suggesting his private comments are likely even harsher. Despite this, Demi seems to be stimulated by his behavior.
Lots of media buzz surrounds the event, with talk about drinks and fancy strollers. However, the most important moment happens backstage at Jimmy Kimmel. Taylor reveals she still cares about Whitney and misses having her around. Whitney shares that she’s learned to be more understanding after hearing everyone’s struggles at the reunion. This deeply affects Taylor, and they essentially reconcile. Taylor then subtly suggests that Dakota is causing problems with her interviews and public appearances.
The drama keeps unfolding! Jessi and Taylor are discussing Dakota’s fourth cheating incident, dissecting the details – how many photos were taken, and what did they show? They’re also trying to figure out how far along his plans were to meet with whoever he was with. There’s a big difference between what Jessi was told and what Dakota admitted, so Taylor decides to call him directly. He firmly maintains that only one photo exists – a silhouette – and he’s sticking to that story. I’m dying to see this so-called “silhouette” because all I can imagine is something resembling a scene from Jane Eyre or a paper cutout you’d find in a historical gift shop. But Dakota is known for being deceitful, so that image is probably way off.
Back in Utah, Taylor continues to investigate. He discovers the woman has received full protection as an informant, a rare benefit usually reserved for those cooperating with law enforcement. When Taylor and Liann contact her, her voice is distorted and she’s clearly being deceptive, constantly changing her story. She initially denies everything, then claims memory loss, and finally offers flimsy excuses, like claiming a photo was taken while she was on vacation in Florida. She vehemently denies inviting a particular man to her home, then quickly admits she did, but only to let him vent his feelings. It’s a sad situation, and regardless of one’s opinion of Taylor, it’s hard not to sympathize with someone who was raised around people capable of such behavior.
Finally, it’s time for the season’s conclusion! The women will gather on an oversized leather couch, hoping to reach some kind of agreement. Though, knowing them, it’s more probable they’ll cause enough drama to extend the show for at least two more seasons!
