Supporters of ER and Grey’s Anatomy have been thoroughly entertained for the past few weeks with Max’s The Pitt. Headlined by Noah Wyle, who first gained fame from his role in the long-lasting NBC series ER, this latest television program revolves around a grueling 15-hour stint at a bustling medical facility.
Throughout the 15 episodes, each lasting an hour, the doctors grapple with critical emergencies and personal crises. This intense situation stirs up a lot of feelings and tension, making every episode emotionally charged.
Fortunately, Production for The Pitt’s second season has commenced, and its creators have shared details about the setting and timeline for the upcoming episodes.
The Pitt Season 2 will be set over holiday weekend
As stated by executive producer R. Scott Gemmill, The Pitt’s second season is set during the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Additionally, similar to the first season, it will span a 15-hour timeframe.
They revealed that the next season is set 10 months following the events from the initial one, with the grand finale airing on April 10.
Of course, one can expect a significant amount of excitement or turmoil to walk through the hospital’s doors over the Fourth of July weekend. Given the existing high volume of patients, this surge could make Season 2 more chaotic and intense than the initial set of episodes. (Believe it or not.)
At Deadline’s Contenders TV event, Wyle additionally discussed the unique structure of the show, elaborating on its implications for significant elements such as casting.
To put it simply, each character appearing on the show stays employed throughout the entire duration of the season’s broadcast. This is done to maintain consistency as the season unfolds over a span of fifteen hours.
The temporary cast members who graced our series put in months of work, frequently spending long hours in the lobby for brief scenes, or blending into the background until it was their time to shine and finally take part in a full scene, as stated by Executive Producer John Wells.
