The Outlast Trials Update Includes A Ton Of Free (And Unsettling) Cosmetics

Update 2.1 for The Outlast Trials has been released, featuring temporary events, tasks, and an abundance of fresh cosmetics, including numerous spooky character skins that add to the game’s already terrifying costume collection. In honor of The Outlast Trials’ one-year milestone, you can collect additional free items, including a vomit-inducing cake, by finishing the first-anniversary tasks. These unique items, along with the newly released catalog, are only available for a limited time and will vanish from the game around April 22nd.

Regarding game adjustments, some equippable cooldown abilities (Rigs) have been enhanced. The Barricade Rig now covers a wider area, securing additional doors and windows to impede enemy advancement. The Bling Rig speeds up its deployment, taking just 3 seconds for the upgraded version and 4 seconds for the basic version – this is a one-second reduction from previous versions following the latest update. Lastly, the newcomer among the Rigs, the Jammer, can now unlock mannequin gates, similar to those found in the nursery map.

The simplest level of challenge has become a bit more manageable, with enemies dealing less harm and moving at a slower pace. But don’t be fooled by this apparent generosity; the toughest setting, Psychosurgery, comes with its own set of challenging modifications – the enemies now move faster.
