This year, The Outlast Trials Geister Event will make its return for Halloween, taking place from October 29th to November 26th, 2024. This event is split into two parts and provides a collection catalog along with rewards in exchange for Geister Tokens that you can earn during the event.
Last Halloween, I had the chilling experience of playing The Outlast Trials and if you were there too, you’d recall the thrill of the Geister Event. Essentially, it revolves around this eerie character known as the Skinner Man who frequently appears to unsettle players, but only inflicts harm when a player’s sanity cracks under pressure.
Geister Event Adds New Variators, New Challenge
In the latest update of The Outlast Trials, there’s a fresh hurdle titled “Eliminate the Past“. Your mission is to get rid of Murkoff’s hidden files permanently. Furthermore, the creators introduced a new feature called “Extract Organ Samples“. Finishing this task grants you extra perks upon completing the trial. The challenge involves locating deceased Reagents and forcing them to divulge crucial information.
But the challenge also brings back existing variators like:
- More Imposters – Fake players with slightly altered usernames who launch surprise attacks
- Enraged – Enemies are extremely sensitive to sights and sounds. Move slowly and quietly, and stay out of sight!
- Hallucinations? – Skinner Man constantly spooks you throughout the level
- No Player Names – Lose the ability to see where your teammates are
- Increased Threat I & II – More enemies + stronger enemies
