The Outer Worlds 2 is now available for players who own the Premium Edition on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC. This guide explains how to get the DLC, access the extra content included with the Premium Edition, and what options are available if you have the standard edition or play through Xbox Game Pass. Rest assured, this guide won’t reveal any details about the game’s story.

The Outer Worlds 2 editions
The Outer Worlds 2 is available in the following editions:
- The Outer Worlds 2 base game or standard edition – $69.99
- The Outer Worlds 2 Premium Edition – $99.99
If you own the standard version of the game, either purchased directly or through Game Pass, you can upgrade to the Premium Edition by purchasing the Premium Edition upgrade for $29.99.
The Outer Worlds 2 pre-order bonus
If you pre-order The Outer Worlds 2, you’ll receive Commander Zane’s Anti-Monopolistic Battle Pack when the game launches. This pack includes a companion drone called Pet Ed, Zane’s unique pistol and dagger, and a full armor set designed for Zane.

The Outer Worlds 2 Premium Edition contents
The Outer Worlds 2 Premium Edition includes:

- Up to 5 days early access (from today until the release date)
- DLC Pass for 2 future story expansions (Story expansions available as released)
- Moon Man’s Corporate Appreciation Premium Prize Pack

When can you access The Outer Worlds 2 Premium Edition DLC and pre-order bonus content?
After finishing the initial tutorial or main quest (without giving away any spoilers!), you’ll receive a message in the game about the Consumerism perk, which was included with the Premium Edition. This perk unlocks access to the rest of your inventory.
What cosmetics and gear is included in The Outer Worlds 2 Premium Edition?
The Outer Worlds 2 Premium Edition comes with the Moon Man’s Corporate Appreciation Premium Prize Pack, which includes a special Moon Man Helmet, Staff, and SMG.

How to access The Outer Worlds 2 Digital Artbook and Original Soundtrack?
Okay, so here’s the deal with getting the artbook and soundtrack for The Outer Worlds 2. If you’re on Xbox, it doesn’t automatically come with the game – you’ll need to download it separately as its own app. But if you grabbed the Premium Edition on Steam, you’ll get a choice when you launch the game: you can pick to start The Outer Worlds 2 itself, or jump right into the digital artbook and soundtrack. Pretty neat!

The Outer Worlds 2 Premium Edition Story DLC
I’ll share more information about The Outer Worlds 2 Premium Edition’s story DLC, including release dates, as soon as it’s available. Both the Premium Upgrade and Premium Edition come with a DLC Pass that grants access to two future story expansions.
The Outer Worlds 2 is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam, Microsoft Store, and Battle.net) on October 29th. You can find interviews with Obsidian’s Brandon Adler by Alex and Adam (with Matthew Singh), a review by Junior, and my first impressions while playing on handheld devices.
