‘The Lost Bus’ Trailer: Matthew McConaughey Saves 22 Children From a California Inferno

The trailer for Apple TV+’s upcoming disaster thriller, titled “The Lost Bus,” featuring Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey, has been unveiled.

The movie, titled “Paradise: One Town’s Battle Against an American Wildfire,” based on Lizzie Johnson’s book of the same name, centers around a rebellious school bus driver (McConaughey) and a dedicated school teacher (America Ferrera), who work tirelessly to rescue 22 children from the threatening flames of a devastating wildfire.

In the movie preview, McConaughey’s character is shown traveling across Butte County, California, when his radio crackles with a distress call. “A predicament is arising at Ponderosa Elementary,” comes the voice over the airwaves. “Twenty-two children are stranded…is there anyone who can retrieve these kids?” McConaughey prepares to respond, but the trailer cuts abruptly, replacing his response with scenes of smoke billowing, planes fighting wildfires, and a bus racing through a blazing terrain.

Other cast members include Yul Vazquez, Ashlie Atkinson, Danny McCarthy and Spencer Watson.

In his own words, Director Paul Greengrass described the movie’s plot as follows: “The film ‘The Lost Bus’ revolves around quiet acts of heroism – it’s about people uniting amidst the impossible. I feel privileged to have been given the chance to bring this captivating tale to life.

Greengrass assumes the roles of both director and co-screenwriter, partnering with Brad Inglesby in this endeavor. The production team includes Inglesby, Gregory Goodman, Jason Blum on behalf of Blumhouse Productions, and Jamie Lee Curtis for Comet Pictures. Additionally, Johnson takes on the role of executive producer.
