As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of Middle-earth adventures – from the epic battles of Minas Tirith to the perilous journey through Mordor. So, when I heard about Free Range Games’ latest offering, Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, I was intrigued, if a bit skeptical given its mixed reviews so far.
As an ardent fan, I’m thrilled to share that my beloved game, Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, is making its grand appearance on Xbox Series X|S and Steam on the 27th of August! And here’s the best part – it’s coming with a host of exciting new features!
Under the name “The Golden Update,” cross-platform play is set to become available across PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games Store. This means that gamers using any of these platforms can now host games together. Additionally, the sandbox mode, initially exclusive to the Epic Games Store beta, will fully debut on all platforms. This feature allows players to explore randomly generated game worlds.
Additional features encompass an intermission feature during offline solo play, along with a variety of challenge levels. This empowers players to tailor diverse elements like enemy hostility, battle dynamics, guard patrol patterns, and resource yields. New construction components, embellishments, weaponry, and protective gear are also on the horizon.
“Return to Moria: A Survival-Crafting Adventure” was launched in October 2023, initially exclusively on the Epic Games Store for PC. Later, it made its way to PlayStation consoles in December. Critics have given it a mixed reception, with an average rating of 59 on Metacritic’s sister site TopMob.
