‘The Life of Chuck’ Trailer: Tom Hiddleston’s Life Story Is Told in Reverse in Stephen King Adaptation

“The universe is large and it contains multitudes, but it also contains me.”

Movie studio Neon has unveiled the first official trailer for Mike Flanagan’s film “The Life of Chuck,” featuring Tom Hiddleston in the lead role. This movie is an adaptation of Stephen King’s novella with the same title. Unlike traditional storytelling, “The Life of Chuck” unfolds in reverse, starting with Tom Hiddleston’s character, Chuck Krantz, at his death and culminating in his early childhood experiences. The film hits theaters on June 6.

In this movie, Benjamin Pajak, Jacob Tremblay, and Cody Flanagan will portray distinct characters named Chuck. Meanwhile, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Karen Gillan will take on the roles of Marty and Felicia, a divorced couple who find their lives upended by the enigma surrounding Chuck Krantz. Mia Sara and Mark Hamill are cast as Chuck’s grandparents Sarah and Albie, with Nick Offerman providing the narrative voice for the film.

Alongside Matthew Lillard, Carl Lumbly, Samantha Sloyan, Harvey Guillén, Kate Siegel, Q’orianka Kilcher, David Dastmalchian, Rahul Kohli, Heather Langenkamp, Michael Trucco, Molly C. Quinn, Lauren LaVera, Antonio Raul Corbo, Trinity Bliss, Violet McGraw, Taylor Gordon, Hamish Linklater, Matt Biedel, Suriyan Sapkota, Saidah Arrika Ekulona and Scott Wampler, the cast also includes several other talented actors.

Critics have likened “The Life of Chuck” to adaptations of King’s works such as “Shawshank Redemption” and “Stand By Me,” rather than “It” or “Pet Sematary.” Filming for this project started in October 2023 under a temporary agreement with SAG-AFTRA.
