The Legend of Vox Machina Season 5 News Reveals How Many More Seasons Will Come

Amazon’s Prime Video has officially announced that The Legend of Vox Machina will continue with Season 5. With Season 4 scheduled for release in 2026 and whispers of Vecna’s return, fans eagerly await the next exciting phase of the series. Although specific storylines are still kept secret, early glimpses hint at a major event on the horizon.

The Legend of Vox Machina Season 5 renewed as the final one

At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Amazon Prime Video revealed that the popular series “The Legend of Vox Machina” would make a comeback for its fifth and last season. Interestingly, this announcement was made before the broadcast of Season 4, set to air in 2026. The grand finale is expected to be released somewhere between 2027 and 2028, contingent on the production schedule.

On platform X (previously known as Twitter), Amazon MGM Studios announced that The Legend of Vox Machina has been given the green light for a fifth and concluding season.

Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham expressed their gratitude to the fans, affectionately known as “Critters”, Amazon Prime Video, and the initial Kickstarter supporters for making it possible to bring the show to life and transforming the bumbling characters of Vox Machina into animation icons.

In the opening of our fourth season, following our triumph over the Chroma Conclave, a fresh danger looms as we find ourselves separated across the globe. A tantalizing glimpse hints at a mysterious glowing scroll concealed within the Cobalt Archives, while an ominous figure reminiscent of Vecna watches from the ruins of a ziggurat – all signs pointing towards an exciting heist-like storyline and a much-anticipated reunion. The upcoming season also promises new faces, such as Taryon Darrington and his mechanical companion Doty, who will undoubtedly bring their unique talents to our adventure.

The story of Vox Machina is derived from Critical Role’s initial campaign, with the original actors, Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham, providing the voices.

In simpler terms, the second campaign from Critical Role, titled “The Mighty Nein,” got an update during Comic-Con. The animated series for this campaign will debut on Prime Video on November 19, 2025. This story revolves around a band of unlikely allies trying to prevent an artifact that could drastically change reality. Additionally, a video game based on Critical Role’s world of Exandria is currently being developed.
