In line with the recent announcement about the release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 version last month, it has been confirmed that “The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon” will be available in North America and Europe on January 15, 2026. This marks a significant milestone as fans worldwide will finally have access to every game in the series for the first time ever. The game is set to release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam). We recently had an exclusive interview with Toshihiro Kondo, President of Nihon Falcom, where we discussed various aspects of the series, including its history and importance to the company. To add excitement to this announcement, NIS America has also released a trailer which you can watch below.
Previously, we delved into the Japanese version that came out last year, titled Kai no Kiseki -Farewell, O Zemuria-. Our review noted it as an enjoyable experience, albeit with certain issues such as pacing concerns. However, there’s more to come! As the western release is scheduled for January 15, we’ll revisit the game then. Keep an eye out for our updated thoughts next year.
