The Last Of Us Season 2 Steelbook Edition 4K Blu-Ray Is Up For Preorder

If you’re excited to rewatch The Last of Us Season 2 after its conclusion on HBO Max, you can already pre-order several versions, including a 4K Blu-ray with an exclusive steelbook case. The physical releases of The Last of Us Season 2 will hit shelves on September 23. Although online retailers are still setting up their product pages, you can currently pre-order the Limited Edition Steelbook at Walmart for $47 or Gruv for $40.

Despite Amazon not opening pre-orders just yet, they’ve set up store pages for all four physical versions, suggesting that you’ll be able to buy them shortly.

As a dedicated gamer immersed in the post-apocalyptic world of “The Last of Us,” I can say that Season 2 kept up HBO’s impressive streak of adhering closely to the narrative of the Naughty Dog video game series. Unlike Season 1, which had nine episodes, Season 2 was a bit shorter, with only seven. However, it covered a significant chunk of The Last of Us Part II, primarily focusing on Ellie’s journey. Looking forward, it seems that Season 3 is set to shift gears and delve into the story of Abby, another key character from the second game.

In case you haven’t encountered it before, The Last of Us is set in a post-apocalyptic America devastated by a fungal outbreak that transformed humans into cannibalistic creatures. The narrative follows Joel, a seasoned survivor, on his quest to escort Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of a quarantined area, as her blood carries the secret to developing a remedy for the Cordyceps disease.

In the second season, we find ourselves five years ahead, primarily focusing on the aftermath of Joel’s choices as his past comes back to haunt him, and Ellie is involved. A fresh conflict arises, leading Ellie to embark on a mission for vengeance while navigating treacherous landscapes filled with infected individuals, cults, and militias. In contrast to the previous season, which largely followed Ellie’s point of view, Season 3 is anticipated to shift focus and follow Abby, another playable character introduced in the second game.

The main plot of the series generally follows the original games, with some moments being very similar. However, it occasionally delves into unexplored backgrounds and introduces fresh characters in standalone episodes.
