The Last Of Us Season 2 Finishes Filming, See Photos From The Wrap Party

As a gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of adaptations that fell short of the mark. But, after witnessing the sheer scale and enthusiasm behind The Last of Us Season 2, I can’t help but feel a glimmer of hope. The wrap party images alone speak volumes about the dedication poured into this project.

Filming for The Last of Us Season 2 has finished, but there is still extensive post-production work to be done before its second season premieres in 2025. Photos from HBO’s wrap party for Season 2 have been shared online, indicating that the network threw quite a grand celebration to mark the end of filming.

“Timothy Good congratulates the remarkable team behind The Last of Us Season 2. They’ve worked tirelessly, and soon their efforts will be appreciated at home!”

As a passionate fan of the original “The Last of Us” video game series and someone who has spent countless hours immersed in its gripping narrative and captivating gameplay, I am beyond thrilled to see HBO’s adaptation of season 2. The hard work and dedication from the production crew are truly evident in every trailer and sneak peek we’ve seen so far.

Previously, actress Isabela Merced, known for her role as Dina in Season 2, has shared that she has already caught a glimpse of the teaser for Season 2 and expressed it as “outstanding”. Furthermore, she acknowledged that Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie, is worthy of much admiration.

“Merced expressed great pride in Bella, as they put in an immense amount of effort, both physically and emotionally. This experience has taught him a valuable lesson: one can truly appreciate individuals who are younger than oneself. He finds himself admiring them greatly,” (paraphrased from the Happy Sad Confused podcast via GamesRadar).

2025 will see the debut of The Last of Us Season 2 together with another popular series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight. Joining the cast for the second season is Merced as Dina, along with Kaitlyn Dever portraying Abby and Young Mazino playing Jesse.

It was also recently reported that Dever required extra security detail for The Last of Us Season 2, presumably due to the controversy surrounding the character Abby.

As for the game series, Naughty Dog has heavily teased The Last of Us: Part III.

In a February 2024 interview, Druckmann shared that he had been searching for an idea for The Last of Us 3, but recently found one. Though he doesn’t have the full story yet, he has a concept that excites him as much as the first two games. This new idea stands on its own while still connecting to the overall narrative of all three parts, suggesting that there may indeed be another chapter in this story.
