The Last of Us Season 2: Episode 3 Release Time

As a gamer, I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of Episode 3 in The Last of Us Season 2, airing soon on HBO and Max. Here’s when you can expect to see it:

(Note: If the time is not provided, it would be best to check the official HBO or Max schedule for accurate release times.)

Have you been alright recently? It’s perfectly fine if you haven’t, considering the distressing scene from the second episode of The Last of Us’ new season, where Joel was brutally killed by Abby using a broken golf club, while Ellie pleaded with her to stop.

Regrettably, it was unavoidable. In the second installment of the game, this serves as the catalyst for the plot, setting events in motion. The third episode is anticipated to set Ellie on a journey that will alter her life irrevocably.

Last week’s episode was year-defining television, so Episode 3 is another must-watch.

What will happen in Episode 3?

According to the preview, The Last of Us Season 2’s third episode seems to delve into the aftermath of Joel’s demise and explore how it affects Ellie personally and also the broader community of Jackson.

It’s clear that Ellie is going to be deeply affected by it – in the initial moments of the trailer, she’s heard screaming after waking up. Additionally, we find Tommy near Joel’s body in Episode 2 while Jackson struggles to cope with the chaos of infected following their rampage.

It’s uncertain whether Ellie will reach Seattle, but the sneak peek does show a hint of the WLF. This might suggest an opportunity to encounter Isaac, and if not, we may gain some insights into his background before he appears in a future episode.

To THR, co-showrunner Craig Mazin acknowledged that he anticipated a strong emotional response from the audience regarding Joel’s demise.

He emphasized the significance of viewers feeling frustrated, yet identifying with the equally or even more distraught characters on the show. Furthermore, he hinted that characters who seem to have departed may not necessarily be gone for good.

As a devoted fan, I’m not worried about ratings plummeting off a steep cliff. It doesn’t seem to happen that way. Furthermore, I’m well aware of the immense power of the rest of this captivating story and our deep involvement in these other connections. Yet, Joel will remain a constant presence throughout it all.

While I’m busy gaming, here’s what I’ll be keeping an eye on: Delve into the story of Abby’s destiny across various games, uncover why Eugene becomes pivotal in Season 2, and stay updated with the most anticipated TV show releases for this year using our 2025 TV calendar.
