Kafei’s latest video showcases the process behind the creation of this chilling crossover. Upon stumbling upon action figures of Toy Story’s Woody and Buzz Lightyear at a thrift store, inspiration struck to rework these characters in a grim fashion inspired by The Last of Us. Alas, poor Buzz met his fate with an outbreak of Cordyceps fungus. On the other hand, Woody underwent a more rugged transformation and prepared himself for one final stand against his dearest friend.

I poured an immense amount of craftsmanship into this diorama, meticulously sculpting, constructing, and stitching together various components to bring my vision to life. Buzz underwent quite the transformation, with his figure receiving a detailed makeover using a Dremel tool to carve out a realistic Cordyceps infection, complete with materials filling his once-expressive face. Meanwhile, Woody’s new attire and facial hair have him looking spitting image of Joel.

Later on, they found themselves placed within a display that had the versatility to serve both as a diorama and a stage reminiscent of The Last of Us. It was adorned with thoughtful details such as grungy backdrops, an expansive fungal infestation, and atmospheric lighting.
