Angel Studios, the distributor for ‘Sound of Freedom’, has unveiled a fresh trailer for ‘The King of Kings’. This epic animated film is adapted from Charles Dickens’ book, ‘The Life of Our Lord’. It offers an engaging portrayal of the life story of Jesus Christ.
In this production, Oscar Isaac will lend his voice to the role of Jesus, and he’ll share the screen with Kenneth Branagh portraying Charles Dickens, Uma Thurman as Mrs. Dickens, Mark Hamill as Herrod, Pierce Brosnan as Pontius Pilot, Roman Griffin Davis as Walter Dickens, Forest Whitaker as Peter, and Ben Kingsley as High Priest Caiaphus.
The movie’s tagline is: “A father shares an extraordinary tale with his son at bedtime, transforming it into a profound life experience. Imagination takes over as the boy joins Jesus on His journey, witnessing miracles, experiencing trials, and grasping the significance of His selfless act. ‘The King of Kings’ encourages us to re-explore the timeless influence of hope, love, and redemption through a child’s perspective.
For the first time, director Seong-ho Jang took charge of the movie and wrote the script alongside Rob Edwards. Jang, along with cinematographer Woo-hyung Kim, acted as producers for this project, while Dennis Cho served as executive producer. The animation for this film was handled by Mofac Animation based in South Korea.
2023 saw Angel Studios unveil the hit faith-based thriller “Sound of Freedom.” This unexpected blockbuster of the summer season amassed an impressive $40 million at the box office in just its first six days on screen.
At one point, a senior Comscore analyst, Paul Dergarabedian, noted that the robust reception towards faith-based films indicates a longstanding desire among a segment of viewers for entertainment aligned with their principles and convictions. These types of productions, if successful, can attract a passionate fanbase, yield substantial box office earnings, and bring lucrative profits to their backers.
