Back in November 2024, it was disclosed that season 5 would be the series’ end, but leading star Chase Stokes confirmed his commitment as a forever “Pogue.” Unfortunately, JJ met his demise, making us question the longevity of their bond. Now, Netflix has revealed that the hunt for Blackbeard’s treasure will wrap up in 2026. Here are the latest updates on the release date, cast members, and potential plotlines for “Outer Banks” season 5.

It’s on sight for Chandler Groff

In the final season of ‘Outer Banks’, Cullen Moss (Sheriff Shoupe) and J. Anthony Crane (Chandler Groff) have been elevated from recurring roles to series regulars. This indicates that the repercussions of JJ’s murder will likely dominate season 5. Given that he killed his own child, such reckless actions by a Kook are certainly worthy of significant attention in the storyline.

In my humble opinion, as a movie critic, the dynamic cast of “Outer Banks” is back for season 5! The charismatic John B., portrayed by Chase Stokes, makes his return alongside Sarah, played by Madelyn Cline, Kiara, brought to life by Madison Bailey, Pope, brilliantly acted by Jonathan Daviss, and the intriguing duo of Rafe (Drew Starkey) and Cleo (Carlacia Grant). Interestingly, Drew Starkey has now assumed the role previously held by JJ in the series’ key art, hinting at a significant shift in the storyline. Moreover, it seems that Rafe’s Face Turn may have become a permanent part of his character, which undoubtedly promises an exciting turn of events for our beloved characters!

What’s going to happen in Outer Banks season 5?

It appears quite probable that the Pogues will track down Groff, recover the Blue Crown, and ideally see Groff brought to account. Alternatively, they might as well take a more decisive action against him, such as apprehending him in a manner reminiscent of their actions against Lightner.
