Today, XSEED Games, an independent publishing label of Marvelous USA, Inc., and Aniplex Inc., a prominent global entertainment company, have jointly announced the launch of a free digital demo for their upcoming narrative strategy RPG, The Hundred Line – Last Defense Academy, on the Nintendo Switch system. This demo offers players a glimpse into the Last Defense Academy and some of its characters, focusing on the first seven days of the 100-day storyline. Similar to the Windows PC demo, progress made in the Nintendo Switch demo will be transferable to the full game when The Hundred Line – Last Defense Academy releases on Windows PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch on April 24.
XSEED Games has unveiled a fresh ‘Gameplay Systems Trailer’ narrated by in-game companion Hiruko Shizuhara, detailing the daily activities and combats players can engage in while at Last Defense Academy over their 100 days. Besides defending against monster invasions, Takumi will have leisure time to investigate academy facilities, such as practicing combat techniques in the Training Room for Battle Points, improving class weapons in the Garage, strengthening relationships with classmates to boost combat abilities, and more as the game unfolds. However, when monsters attack the school, it’s time for Takumi and his allies to rally together! During strategic battles, players accumulate Voltage by defeating enemies, which can be employed to execute a potent Special Attack, momentarily stunning characters while they recover. Additionally, Voltage is generated whenever an ally falls in battle, but thanks to the academy’s advanced technology, they are quickly revived after each fight. This enables innovative strategies where injured allies can deploy Last Resort attacks, sacrificing themselves to deal massive damage and replenish the entire team’s Voltage meter.
The game titled ‘The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-‘, created by TooKyo Games Inc. and Media.Vision Inc., will be launched on April 24, 2025, in the Americas by XSEED Games for both physical and digital versions on the Nintendo Switch. The standard edition of the physical release will retail at $59.99, while a limited edition will cost $99.99. The limited edition includes extras like an art book, CD soundtrack, acrylic diorama, metal pin, lenticular art card, printed novel, and 15 character art cards. Pre-orders for the physical editions are available on Marvelous USA Online Store and participating retailers. The digital release will also be supported, with a standard edition priced at $59.99 and a Digital Deluxe edition costing $69.99, which includes a digital art book and soundtrack.
