As a passionate admirer, let me share my thoughts on Wuthering Waves: its combat system is nothing short of exceptional! From mastering parries to gracefully dodging attacks, there’s no shortage of opportunities to showcase your unique prowess. Yet, it’s when facing the numerous challenging bosses scattered across the realm where this system truly excels and leaves me in awe.
These battles have been tailored to test the mettle of veteran gamers, ranging from swift combatants reminiscent of sparring partners to massive entities that specialize in area-of-effect attacks. Join me as we explore nine of the most formidable adversaries you’ll encounter on your journey through Solaris.
9.
Crownless
In the world of Wuthering Waves, Crownless serves as your primary foe. You’ll find him nestled in the Stone Pile Plain, not far from the Clouded Cliffs. This formidable boss is known for his swift attacks that include rapid slashes, crushing ground impacts, and complex aerial combos which can catch you off guard if you’re not ready. It’s important to note that Crownless shows resistance towards Havoc damage, so it’s crucial to adapt your team accordingly to overcome him effectively.
As a devoted fan, I’d recommend honing my parrying skills to effectively handle Crownless, since many of his moves are susceptible to parries. To further enhance my defensive game, I’ll strategically include a character like Jianxin in my team, who excels at shielding. Lastly, I plan on using shield-equipped Echos, such as the Bell-Borne Geochelone, to bolster my defense for future battles.
8.
Inferno Rider
The charismatic leader of the Flame-Sea biker gang, Inferno Rider, constantly patrols his domain. Known for his fierce demeanor, he relentlessly assails opponents with swift, flame-infused assaults that severely penalize momentary distractions. His wide-ranging abilities tend to materialize promptly, thus requiring constant vigilance and quick reflexes on your part.
Instead of directly confronting its power, aim for short bursts of damage as it recovers from each attack. Maintain mobility to dodge its area-of-effect attacks. The key is timing, so utilize the brief gaps between its assaults to unseat this biker from their vehicle.
7.
Mech Abomination
Tucked away in the heart of the Savantae Ruin’s Court lies the Mechanical Monstrosity, a chilling technological threat. This formidable foe discharges laser assaults, powerful physical attacks, and an assortment of mechanical gimmicks. The compact battlefield intensifies the tension, offering little margin for mistakes.
Pay attention to taking apart its mechanical pieces. Disabling essential parts weakens its attack power, providing you with a considerable edge. Avoid getting hit by its lasers by moving constantly and planning your attacks wisely during its recovery periods after intense attacks.
6.
Mourning Aix
Located by the Fallen Tomb in Swampy Aix’s Marshland, Mournful Aix combines calculated, powerful strikes with sudden bursts of speed that may swiftly overpower you. Its unique maneuver involves a whirlwind of blades sweeping across the battlefield, requiring you to dodge rapidly and repeatedly. This encounter is as much about stamina as it is accuracy.
Similar to numerous other bosses, mastering the art of parrying is your strongest defense against the Mourning Aix. Some of its slow, predictable attacks can be parried, and effectively countering these will enable you to wear it down. Familiarize yourself with its attack patterns and seize every chance to disrupt its rhythm, transforming its powerful onslaught into moments of weakness instead.
5.
Thundering Mephis
This agile warrior, who goes by Thundering Mephis, is a teleporting ninja with lightning speed. He’s designed to challenge your reaction time. By employing swift, electrifying maneuvers, he aims to overpower you, often vanishing only to reappear elsewhere or leave behind a duplicate that mimics his lethal skills. Both the original adversary and its clone can launch powerful attacks, turning this battle into a test of split-second judgment.
Balancing the focus between handling the primary threat and evading attacks from its duplicate is crucial for success. Always be vigilant about both entities, give priority to the original Mephis, and make use of characters who excel in mobility to outmaneuver his electric onslaught.
4.
Dragon of Dirge: Gehinnom
The Gehinnom is a fearsome, skeleton-like dragon residing at Penitent’s End. It has the ability to create fissures that inflict persistent harm, along with spikes of bone that unexpectedly burst forth from the ground. Its immense damage output and strong resistance to Fusion damage make it a formidable adversary, especially if you rely heavily on that element for combat.
Overcoming Gehinnom requires proficiency in positioning and understanding its capabilities. Its chasms and sharp protrusions necessitate frequent adjustments, so concentrate on long-range assaults and the proper use of evasion techniques to maintain the pressure.
3.
Feilian Beringal
In the heart of the colossal Banyan tree nestled within the Mystic Woodland, you’ll find the Feilian Beringal. This monstrous relative of King Kong, with its twisted form, uses powerful swipes, ground slams, and leaping assaults that can inflict substantial harm. Interestingly, it seems resistant to Air-type attacks, making those specific attacks less potent against it.
As a fan, I’d advise you to master agile evasions and strategic counters when facing Feilian Beringal. His ground slams generate powerful shockwaves, but by moving swiftly and cautiously, you can dodge them effectively. Seizing opportunities in the spaces between his heavy attacks is your most promising tactic.
2.
Lorelei: Queen of the Night
In the grand hall of the Nimbus Sanctum, known as the Atrium of Reflections, Lorelei takes center stage in combat. With her aquatic offensive and chokehold crowd-control techniques, she rules the battlefield with ease. Her signature move immobilizes enemies within floating bubbles, leaving them vulnerable for subsequent powerful assaults. To make matters worse, Lorelei has a strong resistance to Havoc damage, adding an extra layer of complexity to defeating her. Strategic thinking is key to outsmarting this formidable adversary.
Keep a sharp eye out for her deceptive trap bubbles hidden within the broad span of her area-of-effect attacks. Also, concentrate on characters or equipment that inflict damage not associated with Havoc, since her resistance may render such attacks powerless.
1.
Sentry Construct: Gargoyle
The Gargoyle serves as a mechanical sentinel, positioned not far from Averardo Vault’s entrance. This formidable foe blends rapid, multiple-strike melee attacks with frozen projectiles at a distance. It often soars into the sky, unleashing devastation from above, thereby introducing a vertical aspect to the battle. To make matters more challenging, it exhibits a strong resistance to Glacio damage, compelling you to reassess your equipment selection.
To defeat the Gargoyle, make sure you have characters who can attack from a distance, as they’ll be effective in dealing damage even when it flies. Moving around constantly will help you dodge its widespread explosions and position yourself for counterattacks when it comes back to the ground.
