As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I find myself eagerly anticipating the release of The Forever Winter on PC, having grown weary of waiting for console ports that never seem to materialize. The tantalizing glimpses of this survival horror shooter have left me yearning for more, and the prospect of battling gigantic war machines in a frozen wasteland is too enticing to ignore.

The Forever Winter (TFW) – Console (Xbox, PS4, PS5) Release
At present, there’s no definitive confirmation regarding the matter. Despite numerous inquiries from fans, Fun Dog Studios has yet to comment on the idea, leaving room for speculation. Since they haven’t denied it, all possibilities remain open. Additionally, during the EA announcement video, the creators dropped some intriguing hints.
Should the game prove successful, our aim is to adopt this unique aesthetic for a fresh setting in the years ahead.
From my perspective, while it doesn’t necessarily imply a console release, there could be hints of wintery landscapes or jungles within the game. But then again, it might just as easily be a teaser for a port announcement.
Additionally, on the official Discord server, a moderator (note: not an employee of the studio, so this is unofficial news) has shared that if the game performs well on PC, developers may consider releasing a console version. Whether or not this will occur remains to be seen, but it seems logical. However, don’t anticipate it happening before the 1.0 launch. At present, we’re unsure how long the game will stay in early access, so Xbox and PlayStation gamers must exercise patience. Furthermore, it is highly improbable that The Forever Winter will be compatible with older generation devices. Only time will tell.
