The First Descendant's First Major Update Adds A Very Lucio-Inspired Playable Character

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must say, The First Descendant’s latest update has piqued my interest significantly! Being a fan of both The First Descendant and Overwatch, it’s fascinating to see the similarities between Luna and Lucio. But let me tell you, if this DJ Descendant can’t rollerblade, she better have some other tricks up her sleeves to keep me entertained!

As a dedicated gamer of The First Descendant, I’m thrilled to share that a significant update has arrived! This upgrade brings not one, but two fresh characters into the game. One of them seems to have drawn some creative inspiration from the beloved hero shooter, Overwatch. Can’t wait to jump back in and explore these new additions!

Her name is Luna, a music-blasting DJ Descendant who blasts sound waves at foes and can support her teammates by laying down different beats. Her weapon, the Synthesizer Gun, becomes more effective when fired in rhythm, enhancing the abilities of her allies.

In comparison, Luna appears quite similar to the Overwatch 2 character Lucio, carrying a gun that resembles his and possessing abilities based on music that can either heal or boost teammates. However, one significant distinction is that unlike Lucio, Luna doesn’t use rollerblades (but in the gameplay trailer, she does glide around on a hoverboard at some point). This mobility aspect is crucial to the overall playing experience when using Lucio in Blizzard’s team-based shooter.

Beyond playing Luna in the latest update for our free-to-play shooter game, I’ve also got my eyes on the upgraded water-bender, Valby Descendant (Ultimate Edition). This guy’s got a snazzy new nano suit that unlocks fresh modification modules, totally altering the way I play. Not to mention, there’s a new Void Intercept Boss, Gluttony, a colossal machine. If we manage to take it down, we’ll score blueprints for some ultimate weapons and components. Excited yet? Let’s dive in!

As a longtime gamer who has been following the video game industry for decades, I must say that I have mixed feelings about the recent controversy surrounding The First Descendant. On one hand, it’s impressive to see a new game achieve such success so quickly, with over 10 million players in its first week and maintaining a top spot on Steam. It’s always exciting to witness innovative games capturing the attention of gamers worldwide.
