As a seasoned gamer, I’ve found that The First Berserker: Khazan is packed with a variety of loot that changes randomly. However, to ensure my favorite gear stays relevant, I make use of the weapons and armor upgrade system, which allows me to enhance them to suit my playstyle. Additionally, the Attribute reroll mechanic comes in handy when I need to tweak my character’s attributes to better fit with my preferred gear.

Both of these enhancement methods interact with Augment Gear and Alter Characteristics in a similar fashion. To access both simultaneously, advance the narrative and finish a specific quest given by a particular Non-Player Character (NPC).

In this tutorial, we’ll show you steps on maintaining your equipment at its best by explaining how to activate the enhancement and reconfiguration options.

How to Upgrade Weapons & Armor + Gear Attribute Reroll | The First Berserker: Khazan

First, make sure to finish the “Traitor Unmasked” task at the Paleimon Citadel. Once that’s done, proceed to locate Oksana in The Crevice and have a chat with her.

Upon her request, I’ll grab Oksana’s Kaleido Box for her, which will initiate the “Kaleido” Bonus Mission within the Silent Temple. Just like always, I’ll jump through the Spectral Portal to embark on this exciting adventure!

As a gamer, I can tell you that this mission appears straightforward; there’s no boss to battle, just pure gameplay. But don’t get it twisted, it’s not a walk in the park. However, given where we are in the game, it shouldn’t be too tough. Finish it off and you’ll meet Oksana at the end. She’ll be her delightful self as always, and she’ll be happy to see that the Kaleido Box remains unscathed… mission accomplished!

After finishing the mission, you’ll encounter Oksana once more at The Crevice. She will discuss the Kaleido Box with you and confirm that she is now capable of utilizing it to enhance your equipment. From this point on, you have the ability to use “Upgrade Equipment” to improve your weapons and armor, or “Modify Attributes” to rearrange your attributes.

Here are a few key things to note about these features:

  • Augment Gear – You’ll first select the gear you want to upgrade. Then, you’ll need to select another gear of the same type that’s a higher level as a material. The gear picked as material will be destroyed, however.
  • Change Attributes – You can pick an Attribute to reroll from any piece of gear. However, the Attribute it changes to is completely random. Each reroll costs a certain amount of Lacrima, with the cost increasing after each subsequent reroll.
